Rumble Strip Equipment Operator / Foreman                      Build a Career That Makes Our Roads SaferDo you enjoy working outdoors, operating heavy equipment, and leading a team? We are looking for a dependable and motivated Rumble Strip Equipment Operator / Foreman to safely operate specialized equipment used to install rumble strips on interstate highways and secondary roadways throughout the United States.This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for operating equipment, coordinating daily job activities, communicating with customers and state officials, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract specifications.Essential ResponsibilitiesSafely operate specialized rumble strip milling equipment to install rumble strips on highways, interstates, and secondary roadways.Lead and supervise a field crew, assign daily responsibilities, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.Review project plans, specifications, and contract requirements to ensure compliance with DOT standards.Meet with contractors, inspectors, and state officials to coordinate project activities and address job site concerns.Maintain daily work schedules to meet production goals and project deadlines.Monitor production and maintain accurate daily production reports, equipment logs, and job documentation.Troubleshoot equipment or operational issues and coordinate necessary repairs or maintenance.Conduct daily inspections of equipment and vehicles, identifying maintenance needs and reporting concerns promptly.Ensure all crew members follow company safety policies, DOT regulations, and safe work practices.Verify employee time records are accurate and submitted on time.Coordinate travel, job site logistics, and equipment readiness.Train and mentor crew members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and company expectations.Communicate effectively with operations management regarding project progress, production, and scheduling.Assist with other field operations as needed to ensure successful project completion.All other duties assigned. QualificationsPrevious experience as an equipment operator or operating heavy construction equipment required.Leadership or crew supervisory experience preferred.Samsara experience a plus. Highway construction or rumble strip installation experience strongly preferred.Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.Valid CDL Class B (minimum) required. Valid CDL Class A is a plus.Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and overtime as project schedules require.Physical RequirementsFrequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to safely climb on and around heavy equipment.Maintain alertness while operating equipment for extended periods.SPT offers competitive benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401k match, paid time off/holidays, and more!SPT is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
