Summary/Objective

Synensys is seeking a Data Scientist to support data integration, transformation, reporting, and analytics initiatives. This role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to collect, prepare, and analyze data from multiple sources to support operational and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong data management and analytical skills, experience building ETL processes, and an interest in applying statistical and machine learning techniques to solve business problems.

Essential Functions

Competencies
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources.
  • Perform data cleansing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze structured and semistructured data to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
  • Create and maintain datasets, data pipelines, reports, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic.
  • Support data modeling, reporting, and analytical initiatives.
  • Document processes, data flows, and technical solutions.
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses and support datadriven decision making.

    Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 13 years of experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of data transformation, data quality, and data integration concepts.
  • Experience with Python, R, or another scripting language for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience working in agile teams
  • Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, or statistical modeling techniques.
  • Experience working with healthcare data or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs or healthcare initiatives.
  • Previous VA badge or credentialing experience.
  • Familiarity with VA EHR modernization environments (e.g., Oracle Health/Cerner).
  • Exposure to Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts and tools.
  • Experience working in government, healthcare, or highly regulated environments.
