Job Description
Remote opportunity - Sacramento, CA, for local travel to customer accounts assigned within the territory, as needed. Must have a valid driver's license.
Compensation: Base salary $70,000.00 + uncapped commissions, monthly car allowance, mileage reimbursement, and a one-time remote stipend. Estimated OTE = $130,000.00
We're seeking a Sales Executive / Account Executive to support and grow our State and Local Government customer base.
In this consultative sales role, you'll build trusted relationships with government agencies, departments, and municipalities, helping them address operational and technology challenges. You'll manage and pursue leads within your assigned territory while also identifying new opportunities through outbound prospecting, digital outreach, and strategic networking.
As an Account Executive, you'll take a solution-oriented approach aligning software, hardware, SaaS subscriptions, and professional services to meet the unique needs, compliance requirements, and purchasing processes of State and Local Government customers. Collaborate closely with marketing, sales leadership, and delivery teams, you'll also operate independently to manage your pipeline and drive deals forward.
Industry experience in public sector or government sales is a plus but not required. We value strong sellers who understand consultative sales, can navigate long sales cycles, and are motivated to learn the nuances of the market.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of State and Local Government accounts
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new opportunities within assigned territories
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand agency goals, challenges, and funding timelines
  • Present tailored solutions that align with government requirements and budgets
  • Navigate public sector procurement processes, including RFPs and contracts (as applicable)
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting using CRM tools
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience

Qualifications
  • 1-5 years of sales experience, ideally in B2B, technology, or solutions-based sales
  • Experience working with State and Local Government entities
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion abilities
  • Exposure to CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Solid computer skills, including email and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
