Role Overview:
Could you be our next Data Analyst I? Globe Life is looking for a Data Analyst I to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the analytics team by creating basic reports, assisting with dashboards, performing data validation, and contributing to analytical projects under guidance. This role focuses on building foundational analytical skills, understanding business processes, and developing technical thinking using cloud-based governed data.
This is a remote / work-from-home position.
What You Will Do:
  • Create and maintain standard reports, basic dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses, and assist with data extraction, cleaning, validation, and organizing existing reporting.
  • Support larger analytics projects under guidance and contribute visual components or slides for reporting.
  • Use cloud-based data platforms and datasets according to governance standards, following documented processes and naming conventions.
  • Document queries, logic, outputs, business requirements, and expected outcomes.
  • Gather and analyze business needs, translate them into technical or functional specifications, and act as a liaison between business units and technical partners to ensure project goals are understood and met.
  • Understand business processes, terminology, and key metrics needed in projects and analytics.
  • Summarize findings in short written or verbal narratives and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously under guidance.
  • Support requirements gathering and build competency in workload organization and progress monitoring.
  • Work with senior analysts to clarify metric definitions, business rules, and perform validation checks to ensure reporting and visuals are accurate.
  • Escalate data quality issues to appropriate resources and communicate project updates, questions, and findings to senior team members and analytics teammates.
  • Build expertise in storytelling with data for non-technical stakeholders and cultivate professional presentation techniques through peer learning opportunities.

What You Can Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in analytics or reporting.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and exposure to Tableau or similar BI tools and Excel.
  • Ability to perform descriptive analytics, identify trends and anomalies, and explore data to understand the story behind changes.
  • Preferred experience with Tableau, Tableau Prep, SQL, Python or R, Excel or Google Sheets, and exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, or Databricks, including a basic understanding of governed datasets and source systems.
