Job description

Company Overview
Tsunami Tsolutions is a leading provider of technology solutions tailored for the aerospace & defense sector and other highly regulated industries. We specialize in delivering innovative enterprise solutions that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and decision-making for airlines, MROs, and aerospace manufacturers.
NOTE: This position requires access to technologies and hardware subject to US national security-based export control requirements. All applicants must be US Persons (8 USC 1324b(a)(3)), or otherwise authorized by the U.S. Government. NO Company Sponsorship offered.
Position Overview
We are seeking a SQL Developer / Data Analyst to support business programs and the CSDW data environment. This junior/mid-level role is ideal for a developer with strong SQL and analytical skills who enjoys solving complex data problems, investigating defects, and developing reliable data warehouse solutions.
In this role, you will develop and maintain SQL Server data warehouse solutions, perform root cause and impact analysis, and implement corrections and new data features. The position requires strong T-SQL skills, analytical judgment, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication with internal teams and customers.
Knowledge of commercial aviation maintenance is preferred, as requirements may be incomplete or require industry context to identify defects, exceptions, and potential production impacts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and refine customer requirements and work with the Project Manager and subject matter experts to clarify ambiguous requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis of bugs and defects within customer data structures
  • Design, develop, test, and implement SQL-based solutions to resolve identified defects
  • Perform design and impact analysis for new data features and elements, including downstream dependencies
  • Develop and maintain stored procedures that extract data from source databases, apply business rule transformations, and load the data warehouse
  • Analyze and maintain table DDL to store source data in the required format and structure
  • Analyze and maintain views that present warehoused data in customer-specified formats
  • Create and execute test scripts and support customer, change request, system-level, and regression testing
  • Work within an Agile SDLC and use Jira for ticketing and workflow management
  • Report progress, risks, blockers, and metrics to program leadership and the Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Champion adherence to established Product Development Workflow and ORCA processes

What You'll Do
  • Develop complex SQL and T-SQL within Microsoft SQL Server
  • Build stored procedures, views, tables, and related database objects from scratch
  • Support ETL and reporting solutions within the CSDW data warehouse environment
  • Troubleshoot data issues and implement reliable, production-ready fixes
  • Use GitHub and Bash for source version control
  • Support manual, exception, and regression testing using tools such as Zephyr and Tosca
  • Coordinate with teams supporting SSIS and Databricks
  • Apply commercial aviation maintenance knowledge to identify requirement gaps, exceptions, regulatory considerations, and potential production impacts
  • Maintain awareness of related project activities and identify direct or indirect impacts on work in progress
  • Support off-site testing at customer locations as necessary

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience developing complex SQL for ETL or reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to create stored procedures, views, and tables within Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with SQL/T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile SDLC processes and development tools such as GitHub, Bash, Jira, and Zephyr
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Clear and effective customer communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and dynamic situations, including customer test sites

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SSIS
  • Exposure to Databricks
  • Experience with Tosca or similar testing tools
  • Experience working with D365 source data
  • Data warehousing experience
  • Knowledge of commercial aviation maintenance

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to perform root cause and impact analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective customer-facing communication
  • Strong organizational and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to interpret and clarify incomplete or ambiguous requirements
  • Adaptability in fast-paced and dynamic environments

Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to work with U.S. ITAR-controlled data
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background investigation and drug screening

Work Environment

  • Normal business schedule
  • May require off-site testing at customer locations
