Job description

Financial Analyst – Youth Sports Acquisitions 
Location: Remote (USA only)

Position Overview 

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support the evaluation and acquisition of youth sports organizations, clubs, leagues, and related businesses. This role will analyze financial performance, build financial models, evaluate acquisition opportunities, and provide insights to support investment and strategic decisions. 

The ideal candidate has a strong financial analysis background and an interest in the youth sports, M&A, private equity, or investment space. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Analyze financial statements, revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and operating performance of potential acquisition targets. 

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate acquisition opportunities, valuation, returns, and growth potential. 

  • Conduct financial due diligence on youth sports organizations, including leagues, clubs, academies, tournaments, and related businesses. 

  • Analyze historical financial performance and develop forecasts, budgets, and projections. 

  • Evaluate revenue streams, membership/enrollment trends, player participation, pricing, retention, sponsorships, tournaments, and other key business drivers. 

  • Support valuation analysis and develop financial scenarios to assess potential acquisition structures and investment returns. 

  • Identify financial risks, opportunities, trends, and areas for operational improvement within prospective acquisitions. 

  • Coordinate legal and documentation process, due diligence for acquisitions and partnerships. 

  • Prepare financial analyses, presentations, and investment materials for senior leadership and investment decision-making. 

  • Assist with the due diligence process by gathering, organizing, and validating financial and operational information from potential acquisition targets. 

  • Work with internal teams, business owners, and other stakeholders throughout the acquisition process. 

  • Track and analyze the financial performance of acquired youth sports organizations following closing. 

  • Develop reporting and KPIs to measure growth, profitability, and operational performance across the portfolio. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. 

  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, M&A, transaction advisory, or a similar analytical role. 

  • Strong financial modeling and Excel skills. 

  • Experience analyzing financial statements and performing valuation and financial due diligence. 

  • Strong understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, and profitability analysis. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. 

  • Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of financial information and translate findings into clear business recommendations. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple acquisition opportunities and deadlines. 

  • Experience in sports, youth sports, M&A, private equity, or investment environments is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong financial analysis skills with commercial curiosity and can look beyond the numbers to understand how a youth sports organization operates, generates revenue, retains athletes and families, and can grow.
