BizOps Engineer to join our Vimo team. Vimo is the leading provider for state-based marketplace technology with more experience than any technology provider transitioning states off healthcare.gov and implementing exchanges. We are dedicated to helping as many Americans as possible easily find and enroll in affordable health insurance.
About The Role - As a BizOps Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of our team, owning the end-to-end management and execution of critical operational processes. This hands-on role combines deep technical expertise with process management and cross-functional coordination. You will leverage your skills in scripting, data analysis, and automation to directly drive efficiency, mitigate risk, and ensure the flawless execution of our operations.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to play multiple roles including planning complex operational processes, managing cross-functional team, providing technical oversight and inputs, and communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders. He / She must have a strong technical background, great attention to detail, and ability to work well with various teams.
Responsibilities -
  • Operations Leadership & Execution: Take full ownership of our complex operational processes, from initial planning and scheduling to final execution. Lead cross-functional coordination and serve as the central point of contact for internal (Development, QA, Product) and external stakeholders.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop, maintain, and enhance tools and scripts using SQL, shell, and Python to automate data checks, environment configurations, and other manual steps within operational runbooks.
  • Documentation & Maintenance: Own and maintain all process documentation, including runbooks, playscripts, and timeline templates, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and easy for the team to follow.
  • Monitoring & Support: Proactively monitor the execution of operational runs in real-time, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and provide technical support to internal and external teams.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform comprehensive data analysis and generate reports to evaluate process performance, identify bottlenecks, and inform strategic decisions for process improvement.
  • Develop tools and utilities to automate various aspects of our operational processes. These can range from simple data checks in SQL to significant Jenkins jobs and complex analysis & reporting tools.
  • Manage and coordinate the execution of the operational processes with internal and external teams.
  • Communicate regular updates internally and externally.
  • Drive continuous improvements of the operational processes through a combination of retrospectives, analysis, automation and corrective procedures.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical operations, QA, DevOps, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with experience in complex queries and data manipulation.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g. Python / shell) for automation and tool development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-step processes with numerous dependencies.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies or tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing or customer-support role.
