Job description

Job summary

We are looking for a software engineering manager to lead, manage and scale our high performing team that is responsible for our certificate authority platform. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the technical direction, strategic planning, and execution of key projects while fostering a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture. This role also entails working closely with senior leadership, product management, and other stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with an agile, cross-functional team in the technical planning and strategy of large-scale backend systems, with a focus on secure and high-availability web services supporting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Assume accountability for the efficient delivery of new features and functionality with uptime, compliance, and quality in mind.
  • Develop a deep understanding of PKI products, architecture, and systems.
  • Understand compliance standards to ensure deliverables meet industry expectations.
  • Manage and scale a highly capable engineering team. 

What you will have

  • 5+ years of people management experience, managing software engineering teams.
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development.
  • Experience with leading teams on large scale, cross functional software projects.
  • Experience with C++ and Go.
  • Expertise developing, consuming, and evolving RESTful web services.
  • Experience building cloud native applications, services-based architecture, DevOps principles and continuous deployment.
  • Knowledge of both relational (MSSQL, MariaDB) and NoSQL (Cassandra) databases.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and address complex technical issues.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams across time zones, fostering alignment, communication, and productivity in remote and hybrid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best-practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. (Or equivalent experience).
