SharePoint Applications Developer Washington, DC – Hybrid- 2 days remote Per Federal contract U.S. citizenship is required Must be able to Pass federal background & credit check for Public Trust clearance Must Apply by September 17th PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Migration from Drupal CMS to SharePoint Online (SPO) BACKGROUND: The Application Design and Development (ADD) section in the division of Research and Statistics (R&S) designs, develops, and supports solutions enabling the economic research, analysis, and policy work of the Board. ADD is seeking a Mid-Level SharePoint Applications Developer for a full-time engagement to build SharePoint Online collaboration sites replacing content and functionality currently hosted on Drupal. The contractor will work with the ADD team and internal business clients to design and build sites meeting defined specifications, ensuring a smooth transition from Drupal while improving collaboration and knowledge sharing. REQUIREMENTS: • Develop SharePoint Online solutions using out-of-the-box tools and custom coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, SPFx, Handlebars, PowerShell, Bootstrap, Fluent UI, PnP libraries). • Design and build SPO sites that replicate and improve upon Drupal content/functionality, per defined specifications. • Translate business requirements into end-to-end SharePoint solutions; write high-quality, testable code. • Conduct code reviews and QA of SPFx/React code, including code from other team developers. • Develop reusable components (web parts, content types, site columns, list templates) for consistent, efficient delivery. • Adhere to architecture, security, and design standards; collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements. • Experience with SPO/M365 technologies: Azure, Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate), Graph API, REST/Web Services. • Working knowledge of Linux file systems/scripting, supporting integration between Linux file systems and SPO via service principal accounts and Graph API. • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills. • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate development. Desired: Drupal migration experience, ShareGate experience, Section 508 accessibility delivery. Clearance: Not required, but a Public Trust clearance (active or in-process) is highly recommended given the full-time, onsite nature of this role. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide a candidate integrated with the ADD team, to support migration from Drupal to SharePoint Online. Responsibilities include: 1. Requirements & Design – Gather requirements from ADD/business clients; translate Drupal structures into SPO architecture and reusable components. 2. Development – Build SPO sites, pages, and SPFx web parts; develop reusable components; build PowerApps/Power Automate solutions; support the Linux–SPO integration (scripting, service principal accounts, Graph API). 3. Migration – Support content migration, mapping, cleanup, and validation, using ShareGate or equivalent tools. 4. Agile Collaboration – Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives; coordinate with business clients throughout delivery. 5. Quality & Standards – Ensure adherence to ADD standards and Section 508 compliance; apply AI-assisted tools where appropriate. 6. Support – Troubleshoot end-user issues; provide documentation and knowledge transfer to the ADD team. ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: START DATE: October 26, 2026 END DATE: December 31, 2026 Note: It is likely that the performance will go beyond the current POP. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: On-site- Washington, DC NOTE: Work is primarily on-site, though partial remote is a possibility (2 days/week). Remote work would not start until 30 days past the start date. CITIZEN STATUS: NOTE: US Citizenship is required per federal contract requirement INTERVIEW: Selected candidates will participate in a phone screening. Those that pass the phone screening may be invited to an in-person interview. The use of video conference tools (e.g., MS Teams or WebEx) can be used in accordance with agency guidelines.
