Providence Mental Therapy Session Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in Gresham, Oregon, primarily in a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Providence Mental Therapy Session Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting individual therapy sessions in the client's home or our outpatient clinic, ensuring confidentiality and comfort.
  • Designing and implementing treatment plans that focus on improving coping strategies, social skills, and anger management techniques.
  • Working closely with caregivers and adolescents to enhance decision-making skills for better management of behavioral challenges at home.
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices to help decrease high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious actions and physical aggression.
  • Participating in a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, collaborating with other professionals to synchronize efforts in supporting families.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes for each client.
  • Attending monthly team meetings to share recommendations and discuss the progress of clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who face developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges. This includes providing essential therapeutic support to families navigating complex dynamics due to their children's needs. The goal is to empower these families through specialized intervention strategies that foster growth and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Oregon.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with additional weekend availability considered advantageous.
  • A validated driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check that includes fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience offering positive behavioral support to children with diverse needs.
  • Experience working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred to better serve our clients.
