Position Overview

The Proposal Solution Architect for Global Solutions will serve as the technical lead and SME, with responsibilities including services, solution architecture, and design engineering functions, as well as leading RFP (Request for Proposal) technical responses.

The candidate will serve as a Solution Architect responsible for shaping the client's vision and strategy, and for developing highly advanced, leadingedge technology concepts spanning networking, mobility, SDN, cloud, cybersecurity, and software applications and platforms for automation, analytics, and/or AI to deliver the necessary solutions and services to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute technical responses to customer RFP's (Requests for Proposals) and developing innovative solutions while collaborating across business units.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end telecommunications and information technology architecture of total enterprise-wide system solutions and services to include: elements of customer requirements gathering, translation of business needs into technical system solutions, architectural design, testing, implementation, documentation and supportability.
  • Develops customer technology solutions using best engineering practices utilizing various industry products and technologies.
  • Coordinates or leads the transition or transformation from existing, to new network and/or telecommunications design solutions.
  • Provides technical direction and engineering expertise for network and telecommunications systems infrastructure activities, including planning, designing, and implementing communications and network infrastructure requirements
  • Develop work breakdown structure and level of effort for opportunity capture
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field desired w/ a minimum 5 years of work experience as a technical lead or in a role related to solutions / enterprise architect capacity; mobility and wireline networks, large scale enterprise systems integration, IT Strategy and Management, IT Transformations, and/or Cloud Architecture.
  • 5 years supporting Enterprise customers or Carrier Companies serving Enterprise companies
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of telecom and IT infrastructure business.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of managing and manipulating telemetry for cybersecurity solutions and/or IT/Software solutions related to performance, behavior, and user experience. Recent experience in the past 2-3 years is preferred.  
  • Working technical knowledge  or work experience in data transport services, technologies - IP, MPLS, Ethernet, OTN, DWDM and SDWAN
  • Working technical knowledge of basic and advanced networking appliances and concepts.
  • Working knowledge of new and emerging technologies such as autonomous networking, SDN, NFV, Cloud, DevOps, SecDevOps and Managed Security Services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (ex. Excel and word) and Salesforce.com
  • Flexibility and ability to work in  dynamic and ambiguous environments.
  • High proficiency in Technical Writing including proposal writing
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, Strong communicator, Strong presentation skills, knowledge of 'Solutions Selling' basics.
  • Current technical certifications aligned to telecommunications, cybersecurity, networking, software development and/or information technology.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Active SECRET Security or higher Clearance is required.
Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $135,000

Salary Maximum: $175,000

The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, By Light also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions.
