We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in engineering, architecture, or construction who thrives onsolving complex challengesand working closely withmulti-disciplinary teams.


In this role, you will coordinate and support multi-disciplinary engineering projects from planning through construction closeout. You'll play a key part in project schedules, technical coordination, and quality assurance, ensuring seamless collaboration between in-house engineers and architectural partners. As an employee-owner,your technical contributions will directly impact project successand the growth of our firm.

Goals & Responsibilities

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Handle electrical and technology system designs, including power distribution, lighting, fire detection, access control, and security
  • Ensure quality control, adherence to timelines, and budget alignment for electrical design projects
  • Develop construction documents, specifications, and reports using Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and commercial electrical design software (ETAP/SKM)
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support project documentation and reporting processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Iowa(or ability to obtain licensure within 60 days).
  • Proficiency inAutodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and commercial electrical design software.
  • Strong experience incommercial electrical system design, including power, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems.
  • Excellentproblem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strongcommunication and client management abilities.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineeringor similar field.
  • Licensure inmultiple states.
  • CLD (Certified Lighting Designer),CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)certification.
  • Experience inComCheck, energy modeling, arc flash studies, and electrical coordination studies.
  • Familiarity withETAP/SKM software and AutoCAD MEP.
