About the Role:

X-Bow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex systems problems, designing distributed architectures, and building platforms that transform how aerospace and defense engineering is performed.

In this role you will develop core capabilities underpinning our Digital Engineering ecosystem, including communication infrastructure, workflow automation, engineering applications, lifecycle information services, and visualization tools.

This is a highly collaborative role working alongside systems engineers, data engineers, data scientists and domain specialists. The ideal candidate will be capable of taking ownership of software capabilities from concept through deployment, working closely with stakeholders to translate engineering challenges into production quality solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable backend services and event-driven capabilities supporting engineering workflows and information exchange across multiple systems.
  • Develop APIs and services powering internal applications and engineering tools
  • Design mechanisms for discovering, navigating, and contextualizing engineering information
  • Collaborate with data engineers to develop metadata models, information services, and data processing pipelines
  • Build user-facing applications, dashboards, and visualization capabilities
  • Extend and maintain existing custom engineering applications including materials, testing, and analytics platforms
  • Partner with domain experts to transform complex engineering processes into intuitive software experiences
  • Contribute to platform architecture, reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability
