Job Summary
Join the Unit 42 Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team as an MDR Shift Analyst, focused on overnight and weekend security operations. You'll monitor customer environments, investigate security alerts, and respond to cyber threats using technologies such as Cortex XDR.
This role is ideal for analysts who thrive in fast-paced SOC and incident response environments, enjoy solving complex security challenges, and are comfortable working night shifts as part of a 24x7 global operation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and investigate security alerts across customer environments
  • Triage, investigate, and respond to security incidents from detection through resolution
  • Analyze endpoint, network, and log data to identify malicious activity
  • Communicate findings and remediation recommendations to customers and internal teams
  • Document investigations, response actions, and incident outcomes
  • Partner with Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Security Research teams to improve detections and response capabilities

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of SOC, Incident Response, MDR, or Managed Security Services experience
  • Hands-on experience with EDR, SIEM, SOAR, and firewall technologies
  • Strong understanding of cyber threats, attack techniques, and incident response processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred
  • Cortex XDR and/or Cortex XSOAR experience
  • Previous experience working shift-based or overnight security operations
  • CySA+, CEH, or similar security certifications
  • MDR, managed security, military cyber, or intelligence experience

NOTE: This position supports a 24x7 MDR operation and requires flexibility to work day shifts, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business and customer needs.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
