Lead SOC Analyst
Reports to: SOC Manager
Shift and Location Details:
  • The Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST for Hybrid or Remote.
  • Tampa Hybrid: Highly preferred. Expectation is 3 days a week in our Tampa Center of Excellence (your choice of days), and 2 days remote.
  • 100% Remote: Open to US remote talent within the Eastern TimeZone. No relocation to Tampa is required for remote hires.

Reporting directly to the SOC Manager, the SOC Team Lead at Deepwatch will make a significant impact on global security. Our mission involves safeguarding organizations against the world's most advanced threats, and the Deepwatch Security Operations Center is your gateway to a diverse range of experiences. As a SOC Team Lead, you'll mentor and empower our analyst team, serve as the primary point of escalation for complex cases, and occasionally step in to detect and respond to high-priority security incidents directly to safeguard our valued customers.You will also take a proactive role in guiding analysts in cybersecurity related education, helping them achieve their goals. Additionally, you'll take ownership of high-complexity customer security incidents, ensuring that they get timely and comprehensive reports.

You'll be an integral part of supporting our customers by understanding their bespoke environment, needs and challenges. You will be playing a key role in protecting some of the top organizations in the world, and have the opportunity to develop your skills by working with the best responders in the industry, your team and your shift!
In this role you'll get to:
  • Showcase your strong cybersecurity knowledge by assisting in investigation mentoring, demonstrating efficient ways to pivot within SIEMs, and teaching industry best practices.
  • Act as the shift triage expert, identifying the appropriate actions to take throughout critical investigations, customer compromises, and network targeting.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving SOC operations, enhancing customer retention and refining SOPs, customer service, and the quality of life at deepwatch.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership, customer service teams, and product owners to gain insight into new offerings and services.
  • Disseminate relevant information to your team through training sessions.
  • Leverage our world-class internal business intelligence to extract actionable insights from big-data analysis.
  • Act as an additional resource for the Threat Response team when a compromise is discovered or when a customer declares an Incident
  • Engage in peer review sessions to evolve and enhance the analysis quality for ticket escalations.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to:
  • Possess 5+ years of experience in Security Operations
  • Serve as a technical escalation point, ready to assist the team and customers with complex escalations as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, continuously measuring accuracy and quality of analysis performed.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate across business units and outside your immediate team to solve problems as necessary.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Splunk SIEM, alongside the capability to utilize alternative platforms like Google SecOps or Microsoft Sentinel, ensuring smooth console navigation, optimized query execution for streamlined investigations, and precise alert evaluations.
  • Have in-depth understanding of modern EDR tools like CrowdStrike & SentinelOne, email security, and cloud identity platforms.
  • A high-level understanding of Adversary Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures (TTP) and MITRE framework
  • Advanced knowledge of Event Logging, Triage, and Analysis
  • The ability to autonomously perform a complete and thorough triage and incident investigation with the proficiency to pivot to other log sources, cloud systems, or consoles as necessary.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar case management tools.
  • The ability to convey complex event data in an easily digestible manner to internal teams and customers.
  • Demonstrate experience working customer SLAs and contract requirements ensuring your team is delivering with quality and efficiency at all times
  • Champion the Deepwatch "One Team" core value by actively identifying and advocating for the resolution of challenges, both within your immediate team and across the broader organization.
  • Train and mentor analysts acting as a player-coach supporting growth and development.
  • Preferred Certifications: CISSP, Security X, CySA+, GCSA, GCIH.
  • Experience in an MDR or MSSP environment is highly desirable.

Statutory Pay Disclosure
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $118,000 - $125,000 + bonus + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
ITAR Compliance
