Job description

Role Overview
We are seeking an Enterprise Integration Technical Manager to lead a team of Technical Leads and Architects and oversee critical enterprise integration and API platforms, including Apigee, ESB (MuleSoft / IBM Integration Bus), and Ping Federate SSO platform. This role combines strong leadership with deep technical and architectural expertise, ensuring quality delivery, operational stability, and modernization across key platforms.
Work Arrangement
  • This is a hybrid, office based position at our Ellis Preserve office located in Newtown Square, PA. Core office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (remote on Monday and Friday). **We may consider 100% remote candidates if you live in EST or CST time zones.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of technical leads and application architects
  • Drive API-first, microservices, SOA, and cloud-native architecture practices
  • Manage and provide technical oversight for Apigee, ESB platforms, .NET APIs, and the ARO/Kubernetes platform
  • Demonstrates strong expertise in enterprise data integration patterns, event-streaming platforms (Kafka, Event Hubs), and asynchronous messaging architectures
  • Guide the design and implementation of .NET-based APIs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security models, and performance requirements
  • Define roadmaps, standards, and architectural patterns for cloud migration and cloud integration initiatives to modernize platforms and enable seamless, secure enterprise interoperability
  • Advance modernization initiatives leveraging Kubernetes, Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO), and cloud-native engineering practices
  • Oversee architecture governance, standards, design reviews and partner with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure aligned delivery
  • Understanding of security architecture principles, including API security, identity/access patterns (OAuth, OIDC), zero trust, and secure cloud design
  • Contribute to multi-year platform and integration modernization roadmaps
  • Champion automation, including AI-driven automation, to improve solution quality, delivery speed, and platform reliability
  • Review and guide technical deliverables to ensure quality, security, reusability, and scalability
  • Manage project delivery by planning, prioritizing, tracking progress, and removing blockers
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Ensure high-quality engineering practices, including code standards, DevOps, testing, and security
  • Oversee production stability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Align technology strategy with business goals to support scalability, innovation, and efficiency
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • Over ten (10) years of progressive IT experience, including seven (7)+ years in enterprise or solution architecture with a focus on API-first integration, modern integration patterns, and cloud-native modernization, along with two (2)+ years of technical team leadership
  • Strong experience with API management and integration platforms like Apigee, MuleSoft, IBM Integration Bus, or equivalent ESB technologies
  • Expertise in .NET API design and development, including RESTful API standards, security patterns, and performance tuning
  • Deep understanding of SOA, API-first integration models, microservices, Single Sign-On and containerization platform
  • Proven experience leading API platform migrations, including Apigee X or MuleSoft modernization, across cloud and hybrid environments with minimal business disruption
  • Experience with SSO patterns (SAML, Auth 2.0, OIDC)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, or OpenShift (preferably Azure Red Hat OpenShift)
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
  • Knowledge of automation techniques, including AI-enabled architectural and operational automation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and working knowledge of NoSQL and modern cloud data platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (GitLab, Nexus, Jenkins, ArgoCD)
  • Knowledge of Integration Security, Infrastructure Architecture, API governance, and compliance controls
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocols, enabling secure context-aware data exchange, cross-agent interoperability, and intelligent integration across hybrid application environments
  • Exposure to emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning, including automation opportunities within integration operations
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Healthcare experience preferred
