  • Excellent benefits package including medical insurance, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, FSA, disability, life insurance, and paid parental leave
Primary Duties
  • Build test coverage that matches project risk, and communicate coverage decisions and tradeoffs to the team and client.
  • Take part in backlog refinement and story shaping, helping the team write testable acceptance criteria before development starts.
  • Plan test cases for user stories and features with the agile team.
  • Partner with developers throughout each sprint to catch issues early, reproduce defects clearly, and resolve them together rather than just handing them off.
  • Perform hands-on testing against acceptance criteria throughout each project.
  • Coordinate regression testing and scheduled client testing, using automation where it makes sense and earns its cost.
  • Keep quality status visible and current, so leads, product owners, and clients can see where things stand without having to ask.
  • Evaluate mid-project changes for testing impact.
  • Estimate QA effort for upcoming work, track your time accurately, and flag it early if test coverage and budget are in conflict.
  • Help improve our QA processes, making them more efficient and reliable.
  • Explore and apply AI-assisted testing tools and techniques, and bring what works back to the team in a usable way.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) directly with clients, explaining quality status and risk in terms non-technical stakeholders understand.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience on an agile development team as a Quality Engineer, owning test strategy and execution across the full project lifecycle.
  • Judgment about where automation adds value and where hands-on testing is the better investment.
  • Experience writing comprehensive test plans and test cases, and adapting coverage as requirements change.
  • A solid understanding of how websites, web applications, APIs, databases, mobile apps, Windows apps, and the cloud work at a high level.
  • Ability to support multiple client projects at once, from embedded, sprint-based testing on active builds to lighter regression coverage on maintenance work.
  • Experience working within scoped budgets or billable-hours environments, with good judgment on where to prioritize testing effort.
  • Strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with teammates to find practical solutions to quality issues.
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Nice to Have Experience
  • Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or other agile work tools.
  • Experience using AI to speed up test design, test data generation, or defect analysis.
  • Test automation experience, particularly with Playwright.
  • Experience planning tests for large projects.
  • Previous consulting experience, independent or with a firm.
  • Microsoft stack technologies, such as C#, .NET, SQL Server, Azure.
  • Content management systems, such as Umbraco.
  • Software development experience.
