Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical significant or routine issues on diesel engines, semi-trucks, and trailers.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on:
    • Brakes
    • HVAC systems
    • Steering & suspension
    • Drivetrain
    • Electrical systems
    • Commercial tires
    • Alternators
    • Lights
    • Air Compressors
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspections.
  • Maintain accurate service records and follow safety procedures at all times.
  • Safely operate equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists, and other lifting devices, etc. daily.
  • Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts.
  • Clean work areas..
  • Communicate with Drivers to make appropriate repairs.
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.
  • May be required to operate and maintain company vehicle to perform field service repair then operate repaired equipment to ensure proper working condition after repairs have been completed.
  • Timely and regular attendance is essential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned as needed.

           Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, commercial trucks, and trailer systems
  • Ability to lift/move up to 100 lbs.
  • Capable of working in physically demanding environments (repetitive motion, awkward positions, vibration, etc.
  • Requires climbing in and out of truck, on and off equipment, multiple times a day.
    Working Conditions:
  • Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) in accordance with company policy.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Exposure to in and outside working conditions; to cold or hot temperatures.
  • Working in high traffic shop environment.
