Are you a skilled and passionate freelance American Sign Language Interpreter looking for new opportunities? We want to hear from you!We are hiring qualified ASL interpreters to provide on-site and video remote interpretation in Seattle, WA.
Assignments may include community events, educational support, and healthcare appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate accurate and effective communication between individuals who use English and those who use American Sign Language (ASL).
- Prepare in advance for interpreting sessions by reviewing materials and understanding context.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to our Code of Professional Conduct.
- Collaborate with the LinguaLinx team members, clients, and other service providers to ensure effective communication.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and target language(s), both spoken and written.
- Adherence to HIPAA, strong interpersonal skills, and reliable internet connection for remote assignments.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to various environments and client needs.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess valid U.S. work authorization.
- May be subject to a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in medical, legal, or educational interpreting.
- Comfortable with simultaneous interpreting.
