About the Team - Consumer & Industrial Power (CIP)

The Consumer & Industrial Power (CIP) organization at Renesas develops advanced power management solutions that serve as foundational technologies across a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. The team delivers highly integrated PMICs, multi phase power solutions, battery management systems, and system-level power architectures used in computing platforms, industrial automation, and connected devices.

The organization operates across analog, digital, and system domains, focusing on high efficiency, scalability, and reliability. With strong emphasis on reusable IP, system-level integration, and global collaboration, the CIP team enables rapid development of robust, high-performance silicon solutions.

Role Overview

Renesas is seeking a Senior Staff Verification Engineer to lead verification efforts for complex mixed-signal power management ICs within the CIP organization. This is a technical leadership role responsible for defining verification strategy, driving methodology, and ensuring high-quality silicon delivery. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise along with proven leadership in large-scale verification projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive verification strategy and methodology for PMIC and power subsystems
  • Develop and own verification plans, environments, and infrastructure
  • Lead UVM-based verification and AMS/mixed-signal flows
  • Develop self-checking testbenches, constrained-random tests, and reusable VIP
  • Drive coverage closure (functional, code, assertion) and improve efficiency
  • Verify system-level behaviors including power sequencing, fault handling, telemetry
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, system, and firmware teams
  • Debug complex mixed-signal issues and drive root-cause analysis
  • Build regression infrastructure and automation frameworks
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across global teams
Qualifications
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineeringย 
  • 10+ years of experience in digital or mixed-signal verificationย 
  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog, and UVMย 
  • Experience in AMS/mixed-signal verification and Real Number Modeling (RNM)ย 
  • Understanding of analog/digital circuits and power electronics/PMICsย 
  • Experience with verification planning, coverage, and debug methodologiesย 
  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl)ย 
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills with system-level perspectiveย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Experience with PMIC, DC-DC converters, LDOs, battery management systemsย 
  • Familiarity with Cadence tools (Virtuoso, AMS simulation)ย 
  • Experience with system-level power validation and architectureย 
  • Experience building reusable verification frameworks and methodologiesย 
  • Prior experience in technical leadership or mentoring rolesย
