Job description

Greater Good Charities is a 501(c)(3) global nonprofit organization that works to help people, pets, and the planet by mobilizing in response to need and amplifying the good. To date, we have provided over $1B in aid, expertise, and funding in 121 countries in support of this mission.

Position Overview:

Greater Good Charities is looking for a Marketing Designer, Brand & Web to carry our brand across everything we make. They will design and produce creative for both print and digital - campaigns, collateral, templates, and identity systems - and hold the line on brand standards across marketing, fundraising, and programs teams. They will also own day-to-day design updates to our websites in HubSpot and WordPress, keeping page layouts on brand and current.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish the look and feel of the Greater Good Charities brand across every channel we use, from print and direct mail to web, email, social, and events.
  • Serve as day-to-day steward of the brand: maintain and extend our brand guidelines, answer usage questions from staff, and review outgoing materials for consistency across teams.
  • Support the digital marketing team with graphic design requests across social media, ads, email. This includes designing email templates, social media graphics, custom ads across paid social and programmatic, etc.
  • Design and produce print collateral for teams across the organization, including direct mail, brochures, one-pagers, event signage and banners, and report layouts. Prepare press-ready files to vendor specifications and manage proofing with print partners.
  • Manage our suite of templates across channels to ensure they are easily editable and are occasionally updated based on performance and to avoid creative fatigue.
  • Create brand identities and supporting graphics for larger campaigns that fit within the digital marketing calendar.
  • Ensure all templates, documents, and graphics meet Greater Good Charities' brand standards and designs.
  • Support the advancement and corporate partnerships teams with requests for communicating with their respective audiences, including newsletters, PowerPoints, direct mailers, etc.
  • Support the programmatic team with design requests for events and promotions such as flyers, presentations, newsletters, etc.
  • Own day-to-day updates to our websites in HubSpot and WordPress: build and update page layouts, landing pages, and campaign pages so the site stays on brand and current.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing Operations and Director of Donor Experience on site UX so the donor journey stays clear and seamless, and work alongside agency partners on larger builds.
  • Work with the Director of Performance Marketing to track and analyze site traffic analytics, page performance metrics, and user behavior to make decisions on the UX and design of the website and other creative.
  • Manage and update website code (simple HTML/CSS) as needed to ensure elements are functioning properly, cookies and cookie banners are appropriate displayed and captured, and tags are correctly placed to track user behavior.
  • Manage pixels for each advertising platform using Google Tag Manager, ensuring that tags are working correctly.


Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in advertising, design, or a relevant degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience in graphic design or in-house creative, ideally in a marketing or nonprofit setting, with at least 2 years' experience working in graphic design for both print and digital, plus hands-on experience making layout updates in a CMS.
  • Creative mindset, able to take creative briefs and translate them into effective, mature designs.
  • Understanding of creative needs for each print and digital channel and how to analyze the creative's performance.
  • Strong typography, layout, and color judgment, with a portfolio showing work inside an established brand system rather than around it.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Express.
  • Print production experience, including preparing press-ready files (CMYK and spot color, bleed and trim, resolution) and working with print vendors on proofs.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS required, with knowledge of Hubl and WordPress templating (theme editor, page builders) highly preferred.
  • Must have experience working within both HubSpot CMS and WordPress, including building and editing page layouts in each. Experience with HubSpot-hosted email and CRM assets is a plus.
  • Experience placing advertising pixels within Google Tag Manager highly preferred.

Working Environment:

This position is fully remote. The employee is expected to work 40 hours per week from 9 am - 5 pm in their time zone, Monday - Friday.
