• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly clients to identify their specific needs and formulate appropriate care plans.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions focused on helping clients manage emotional difficulties associated with aging, including grief, anxiety, and adjustments to life changes.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement holistic care plans that address the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of geriatric residents.
• Educate family members and support staff on coping strategies and mental health maintenance techniques to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families, offering support in navigating complex end-of-life issues.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs designed to promote mental acuity and engage elderly clients in meaningful activities.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions, adjusting approaches as necessary to optimize client outcomes.

This role is specifically focused on the geriatric population—individuals aged 65 and older—who may be experiencing a range of mental health challenges. • A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification is required.
