Job description

We are looking for a system and software test engineer (m/f/d) to join our test development team focusing on the silicon photonics testing capabilities of our product. With the mindset of an agile tester, you will work in a small, focused team collaborating closely with the international development teams who create the software for the Advantest V93000 SOC test system and supporting them in delivering superior quality.
The job is located in the Boblingen office. Occasional remote work is possible.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Designing, implementing, debugging, documenting, and executing manual and automated tests for silicon photonics test equipment in close collaboration with development teams in Germany, China, and Japan
  • Performing exploratory testing and providing timely feedback to the development teams
  • Planning and coordination of test activities with development teams and test teams
  • Improving test coverage and cost of tests
  • Improving test approaches, test frameworks, and test tools
  • Consulting the development teams in terms of test-related topics, like test analysis, design for testability, test design techniques, or acceptance test driven development
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in software and system testing, especially test automation and exploratory testing
  • Experience in software development of technical systems
  • Good understanding of digital electronics and optical communication
  • Good knowledge of the Java programming language and the Linux operating system
  • Critical and analytical thinking, open-minded, and curious to learn new things
  • Sense of ownership with the ability to drive topics to completion
  • Being a team player with the desire to work in an international team
  • Very good communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Scrum, SAFe, or agile testing in large organizations
  • Experience in semiconductor testing, preferably with the V93000 system, or the semiconductor industry in general
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Ruby
  • Good knowledge of the software configuration management system Git
  • Experience with using AI for test discovery, generation, and/or improvements
