Remote Security Solutions Architect information

What is a remote security solutions architect?

Remote security solutions architects are professionals who design, implement, and oversee security systems and protocols for organizations, working from a remote location. They assess an organization's security needs, develop strategies to protect data and networks, and ensure compliance with industry standards. These architects collaborate with IT teams, evaluate security products, and provide guidance on best practices to safeguard digital assets. Their remote role enables them to support clients or employers from anywhere, leveraging digital tools for communication and project management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote security solutions architect?

To thrive as a Remote Security Solutions Architect, you need expertise in network security, cloud architecture, and risk assessment, typically supported by a degree in computer science or cybersecurity and relevant certifications such as CISSP or AWS Certified Security. Familiarity with security frameworks, cloud platforms (like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and tools such as firewalls, SIEM, and identity management systems is essential. Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills help you collaborate effectively with remote teams and clients. These skills are crucial for designing robust security solutions that protect organizational assets and ensure compliance in distributed environments.

How does a remote security solutions architect typically collaborate with cross-functional teams while working offsite?

As a Remote Security Solutions Architect, you will frequently collaborate with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders using virtual communication tools such as video conferencing, project management platforms, and secure messaging. Clear documentation and proactive communication are essential to ensure everyone is aligned on security requirements and architecture decisions. Regular virtual meetings and collaborative workshops help bridge the physical distance, while leveraging shared documentation and diagrams keeps projects on track. Building strong relationships remotely may require extra effort, but it is crucial for successfully integrating security into all stages of solution design.

Job description

Solutions Architect, Commercial

Location: United States, based in the Midwest or West Coast of the United States to support regional commercial enterprise efforts

Work Environment: Remote

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to partner closely with our Commercial Go-To-Market team. This is not a role focused on running standard demos. Instead, it's about helping shape deals, guiding customers through complex risk challenges, and owning the technical approach that supports successful enterprise sales.

You'll work directly with sales leaders and customer executives to connect Exiger's capabilities to the problems they care about most, making it clear how our platform helps them reduce risk and make better decisions.

We are looking for collaborative, team players who are passionate about our mission to make the world a safer place to do business. Exiger's Client Solutions team is at the centre of the most important work we do at Exiger in support of that mission, and you will work with the global Client Solutions team, alongside working day-in day-out with assigned sales team members in your region. You will also interact with Exiger's Product and Innovation teams to provide input based on client and market feedback for consideration into our future platform product roadmap.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Solution Design: Work with the Commercial Go-To-Market team to shape how Exiger's 1Exiger solution is positioned and applied to solve complex risk and compliance challenges for enterprise customers.
  • Own the Technical Win: Lead customer discussions and working sessions to understand priorities, highlight value, define what success looks like, and align Exiger's capabilities to those outcomes.
  • Be a Trusted Partner: Build credibility with both business and technical stakeholders by keeping conversations focused on risk, impact, and results.
  • Support Complex Sales: Help guide multi-stakeholder sales efforts involving Procurement, Compliance, Legal, Security, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Share Market Insight: Provide feedback to Product and Innovation teams based on what you're seeing and hearing from customers.

What You Need:

  • Experience: 8+ years in customer facing technical roles such as Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting, supporting enterprise sales efforts.
  • Commercial Perspective: A strong understanding of how enterprise software is sold, with experience working alongside sales teams and engaging directly with client executives. You should be comfortable influencing deals not just presenting features.
  • Domain Knowledge: Background in supply chain risk management (SCRM), third-party risk (TPRM), or cyber-related risk is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Understanding: Able to discuss architecture, integrations, and data concepts at a high level and explain them in plain terms. You don't need to write code, but you should be comfortable talking with technical teams.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortable adapting your message for senior executives as well as technical audiences.

Why You'll Love Working at Exiger:

  • High-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.
  • Discretionary Time Off for all employees, with no maximum limits on time off
  • Industry leading health, vision, and dental benefits
  • Competitive compensation package
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Flexible, hybrid approach to working from home and in the office where applicable
  • Focus on wellness and employee health through stipends and dedicated wellness programming
  • Purposeful career development programs with reimbursement provided for educational certifications
