Project Manager II

Job Summary The Project Manager II serves as an advanced practitioner within the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO), leading the planning, execution, and sustainment of enterprise-level projects and initiatives aligned with Centralus Health's strategic and operational priorities. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Project Management & Operational Excellence, this role partners with executive sponsors, operational leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that improve quality, efficiency, and performance across the health system.

The Project Manager II provides mentorship to junior project managers and serves as a subject matter expert in project execution, Lean facilitation, and change management, ensuring systemwide consistency and excellence in delivery.

Core Job Functions

  • Lead the execution of high-priority enterprise projects and programs that advance Centralus Health's strategic, clinical, financial, and operational goals.*
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and communication structures for enterprise initiatives.*
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment across departments, entities, and stakeholder groups.*
  • Apply Lean and operational excellence principles to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and eliminate waste across projects.*
  • Coach and mentor Project Manager I staff and other team members in project planning, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.*
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining focus on quality, timeliness, and outcomes.*
  • Support the Sr. Director in advancing ePMO governance standards, methodology refinement, and portfolio performance measurement.*
  • Ensure all projects comply with regulatory, financial, and operational requirements while aligning with the system's continuous improvement culture.*
  • Lead post-project evaluations and disseminate lessons learned to strengthen enterprise project management capability.*
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of enterprise or cross-functional initiatives in healthcare or similar complex settings.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from PMI (minimum requirement).
  • Extensive Lean training and applied experience through a reputable organization (e.g., IHI, ASQ, Lean Enterprise Institute, Denver Health, or equivalent).

Preferred:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher credential.
  • Experience coaching others in Lean principles or process improvement methodologies.
  • Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring early-career PMs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Frequent use of computer, keyboard, and facilitation tools (digital whiteboards, visual templates). Ability to travel between Centralus Health locations as required.

ePMO Primary location is CMC Campus; may need to go to other Centralus locations as needed. Most work can be accomplished remotely.
