They are responsible for protecting digital assets, ensuring compliance with security policies, and responding to security incidents, often coordinating efforts virtually. Their tasks typically include risk assessments, developing security protocols, monitoring networks for threats, and providing guidance on cybersecurity best practices to remote employees. This role requires strong technical skills, up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends, and the ability to communicate effectively with remote teams.

Join us and make an impact!

About the Role:

3E is looking for a Manager, Security and Trust Engineering to help build a robust company-wide trust engineering capability.

This is not a traditional security manager role, and it is not a compliance-only role. The person in this seat will not simply manage a ticket queue, own audits, or wait for other teams to ask for help. Reporting into the CISO, this role directly leads and develops a security/trust engineering team, while also leading a broader virtual Trust Engineering capability across 3E.

The strongest candidate will have real technical depth in security, infrastructure, platform engineering, and AI-enabled engineering, plus the operating maturity to influence peer teams, create clarity, and move work forward without formal authority.

If you're energized by solving complex problems, embracing emerging technologies, and helping organizations adopt AI responsibly and securely, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: This position supports remote work, preferably in EST or CST.

What You'll Do

As the AI Security & Trust Engineering Manager, you'll own and be accountable for establishing a Trust Engineering capability across 3E.

You will work across Engineering, AI, Platform, Infrastructure, Digital Workplace, Security, Compliance, HR, Legal, and Product to make trust part of how 3E builds and operates. The goal is to turn security, AI governance, assurance, identity, and vulnerability work into repeatable systems, not one-off projects or heroics.

You will:

  • Lead the InfoSec team to operationalize AI governance, security assurance, identity controls, vulnerability remediation, and customer trust practices.

  • Drive security and trust work through cross-functional teams that do not directly report to you by aligning priorities, creating clarity, and making trust work easier to execute.

  • Turn manual security and trust work into durable systems, automation, metrics, and reusable operating models.

  • Partner with technical teams to embed security and trust controls into engineering platforms, CI/CD, delivery workflows, identity systems, endpoint tooling, and AI-enabled workflows

  • Build or guide AI-enabled workflows, agents, automations, or systems that reduce manual work and improve security operations

  • Support continuous assurance for SOC 2 and ISO 42001, with emphasis on automation, evidence collection, and operating discipline, not just audit participation

  • Help transform the engineering mindset from a task-based execution to platform and systems thinking

  • Communicate risk in plain business language to technical and executive stakeholders

  • Establish operating cadence, ownership models, decision rights, metrics, and leading indicators for trust outcomes for 3E's customers

What You'll BringRequired Qualifications
  • Experience leading a team of infosec analysts and engineers across a technology function, in a similar capacity

  • At least six (6) years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, AI engineering, cloud engineering, or a closely related technical role

  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, identity/security tooling, security operations, and how security work moves through technical teams.

  • Hands-on familiarity with Okta, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft E5, Defender, MDM, SIEM/SOC tooling, ReliaQuest GreyMatter, Secureframe, or similar systems.

  • Experience delivering system-level outcomes, not just completing isolated security tasks or supporting one-off audits.

  • Experience working directly with Engineering, DevSecOps, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, or AI teams to drive outcomes through people who do not report to you.

  • Experience integrating security or trust controls into engineering platforms, delivery workflows, CI/CD, identity systems, endpoint environments, or operational tooling.

  • Ability to create ownership models, operating cadence, metrics, and follow-through across multiple teams.

  • AI fluency beyond personal productivity use. You should be able to discuss AI-enabled workflows, agents, automation, governance, and human oversight.

  • Ability to explain complex technical risk in business terms without relying on jargon.

  • Practical leadership style: systems over heroics, automation over toil, clarity over chaos.

  • Based in the US in one of the states where 3E is authorized to hire, and eligible to work without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Built or helped operate AI-enabled security, engineering, infrastructure, support, or compliance workflows.

  • Built automation, agents, scripts, internal tools, or systems that replaced manual security or engineering work.

  • Worked with AI security risks such as prompt injection, agent risk, non-human identity risk, AI supply-chain risk, or human-over-the-loop controls.

  • Worked in a SaaS, cloud-native, platform-heavy, or highly automated technology environment.

  • Background in infrastructure, platform, cloud, identity, endpoint, or technical operations before moving deeper into security.

  • Experience with SOC 2, ISO 42001, or continuous assurance, only if paired with technical execution, automation, evidence systems, or engineering partnership.

Our US Benefits Include:

- Health, dental, and vision insurance

- Life insurance and disability coverage

- Open PTO and parental leave

- 401(k) plan with company matching

- Employee assistance program

- Voluntary supplemental benefits (Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness)

3E is currently authorized to hire in the following U.S. states:

Alabama, Arizona, California (excluding Los Angeles), Colorado (excluding Denver), Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York (excluding New York City), North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
