Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of an enterprise-scale ServiceNow CMDB solution for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). This technical role focuses on driving platform governance, mapping complex federal requirements to platform capabilities, and providing hands-on technical leadership across multiple platform areas. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

The ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise‑scale ServiceNow solutions in support of a USCG program. This role provides hands‑on technical leadership and implementation across multiple platform areas including ITSM, ITOM and ITAM with a primary focus on CMDB implementation.

  • Lead the architecture, design, implementation, tuning, and troubleshooting of the ServiceNow CMDB

  • Develop models and architectural guidelines..

  • Identify and translate and business requirements into architectural blueprints

  • Work directly with business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and map requirements to ServiceNow capabilities.

  • Serve as the technical SME for IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), CMDB and CSDM.

  • Design and implement integrations using Integration Hub, REST APIs, and custom spokes.

  • Lead platform governance, ensuring alignment with best practices and federal security standards.

  • Guide developers and administrators on technical design, configuration, and implementation.

  • Produce and maintain technical design documentation, architectural diagrams, and configuration standards.

  • Work closely with Program Managers, Product Owners, and Stakeholders to support roadmap planning, backlog refinement, and solution delivery.

Qualifications

High School Degree with 12+ years of IT experience (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA).

  • 8+ years of experience with ServiceNow architecture, configuration, workflow development, and platform enhancements.

  • 8+ years of experience implementing CMDB configuration, integration, tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Deep understanding of overall ServiceNow platform architecture.

  • Technical expertise using ServiceNow App Engine Studio, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Predictive Intelligence.

  • Strong working knowledge of CMDB and CSDM.

  • Extensive hands-on ServiceNow scripting experience to implement and resolve issues with:

  • Discovery Probes to force the correct pattern

  • Discovery Patterns to address pattern issues

  • ETL of Service Graph Connectors

  • Handling additional fields added to a data pull from a management system (such as Tanium) and updating the service graph connector to handle new fields

  • Updating identification rules to eliminate duplicate values

  • Updating reconciliation rules to prevent certain fields from changing (serial number, model)

  • Demonstrated ServiceNow integration experience with several of the following Service Graph Connectors:

  • SCCM

  • Tanium

  • Solar Winds

  • Dynatrace

  • Active Directory

  • MS Intune

  • Azure

  • AWS

  • Cisco Intersight

  • Implementation of Cloud-based discovery schedules

  • Implementation of Network-based discovery schedules

  • Ability to build custom REST API integration into ServiceNow from other management systems

  • Experience establishing and executing platform governance

  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines integrated with ServiceNow.

Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) enterprise platform modernization programs.

  • Advanced professional attributes including working collaboratively in agile teams, working independently with minimal oversight, and communicating with customers.

  • Advanced certifications such as ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

  • Advanced knowledge of DoD 8570 Baseline Security standards, holding credentials such as Security+ CE, SSCP, CND, or CCNA Security.

Posted Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
