What is a Remote Scribe?

A Remote Scribe is a professional who assists healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters in real time from a remote location, typically using a secure online platform. They listen to patient visits, transcribe medical notes, and enter information into electronic health records (EHRs), allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care. Remote Scribes are trained in medical terminology and privacy practices and usually work for hospitals, clinics, or third-party providers. This role helps improve workflow efficiency, reduce clerical burden on providers, and enhance the accuracy of medical records.
