As a Technical Product Leader for Search, you will lead the development and optimization of cutting-edge algorithms and systems that enable consumer engagement. You will work closely with a team of talented engineers to design, implement, and iterate on personalized, context-aware business recommendations.

  • Strategy and Vision: Define and execute a product roadmap for Search, aligned with Yelp’s overall business objectives by staying abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape and identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Customer Empathy: Understand consumer needs and pain points, and translate them into product requirements by working closely with UXR and Data Science.
  • Algorithm Development: Identify areas for improvement, define & prioritize algorithm development initiatives aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Leverage data-driven insights to inform product decisions and optimize algorithm performance.
  • Product Development: Lead the development of Search products from conception to launch. Foster a data-driven culture to measure and optimize product performance.
  • Organizational and Technical Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, design, and data science to deliver exceptional products. Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts and drive innovation on search algorithms.
  • Business Impact: Drive consumer engagement and retention through innovative product solutions.

  • Proven track record and extensive experience in leading technical product development in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, preferably in the Search space.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong collaborator who enjoys working across different teams, functions, and timezones.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field and have experience solving large computational problems.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent work experience is required

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data and years of experience. The actual compensation offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience and skill set.
