Job description

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time faculty position in the Health & Human Performance Program. Specifically, the program is seeking a candidate with expertise in Scientific Writing and Measurement & Evaluation Techniques in Health & Human Performance. The ideal candidate would have the ability to also teach graduate-level courses related to cardiovascular and neuromuscular responses to exercise and/or sports nutrition. This position is remote.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Teaches 24 hours per year in the Health & Human Performance program
  • Maintains curriculum at course level
  • Serves on dissertation committees
  • Grades comprehensive examinations
  • Maintains a robust record of scholarship
  • Pursues professional development in order to maintain best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Program Director, Division Chair, or Dean
  • Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Skill Sets:

  • Demonstrated content expertise in Scientific Writing, Measurement & Evaluation in Health & Human Performance
  • Demonstrated record of mentorship of graduate students and scholarship
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, preferred Blackboard
  • Proficiency with online pedagogy
  • Proficient with lecture recording to aid in online education
  • Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skills
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago

Minimum Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching in a Health & Human Performance-related graduate program is required
  • Prior experience teaching online for a Higher Education program is preferred

Education Requirements:

  • A completed PhD in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field is required
