Overview BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook Tutors are on the front lines of closing the early‐learning gap for K‐8 students during a key period of their educational journey. Our Online Reading Tutors work in live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on students. BookNook tutors must reside in and work from the United States and have a US mailing address. We are unable to engage with tutors who reside in the following states: California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and any U.S.

territories. Position Specifics Position Type: 1099‐eligible independent contractor Pay Rate: $20 per hour ($10 per 30‐minute session) Timeline: Programming typically runs during the school year, with the busiest months from September to May Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on availability and the number of active tutoring programs; schedules may vary based on school requests Sessions are held only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before school, during school, or after school Program duration varies.
