Job Summary

The Master Data Analyst is responsible for the analysis, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise master data across SAP and related business systems. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to support operational activities, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional projects through data analysis, reporting, data quality monitoring, and process improvement. The Analyst serves as a trusted resource for ensuring data integrity, enabling informed business decisions, and supporting enterprise data governance objectives. This is a hands-on SAP master data role in a manufacturing environment where data accuracy directly impacts operations. This role will be remote, based in the US, with periodic domestic travel.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze master data trends to identify opportunities for improved data quality, accuracy, and governance
  • Create, maintain, and audit material, customer, vendor, business partner, pricing, and other master data objects within SAP and connected systems
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics that support business operations and management decision-making
  • Perform data analysis to support business initiatives, process improvements, acquisitions, system enhancements, and organizational projects
  • Conduct root cause analysis of data quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and IT teams to understand data requirements and support business objectives
  • Monitor data governance controls and compliance with established master data standards and policies
  • Support testing, validation, and implementation activities related to master data processes and system changes
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and business rules related to master data management processes
  • Provide guidance and training to business users regarding master data standards, governance, and best practices
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance data accuracy, reporting, and operational performance

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Analysis, Business Analysis, or ERP support
  • Experience with SAP, SAP S/4HANA, or other ERP platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyze large datasets
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, Python, SAP Reporting, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and process improvement methodologies
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience developing business metrics and KPI reporting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Thinks analytically about data structures and patterns
  • Understands business context behind master data
  • Can translate between business SMEs and technical teams
  • Identifies root causes instead of correcting records one at a time
  • Is comfortable working in Excel to construct structured datasets
