The Institute for International Economic Policy serves as a catalyst for high-quality, nonpartisan, multidisciplinary research on policy issues surrounding the global economy. IIEP connects a network of 60+ interdisciplinary faculty and visiting scholars with students, policymakers, private-sector leaders, and 30+ Executive Circle ESIA Alumni. The Institute advances GW's engagement in the global economic arena through research, events, conferences, and external partnerships, including deep ties with the World Bank. IIEP also supports student professional development through paid research assistantships, staff positions, fellowships, and networking opportunities.
Position Specific Summary
The RA II will work for the Institute for International Economic Policy and be assigned to faculty research projects as needs arise, based on the RA's skills, experience, and project fit. Assignments may involve qualitative research, literature reviews, data collection, data analysis, writing support, policy research, or other research-related tasks. Because RAs support active faculty research agendas, candidates should be prepared to contribute across a range of topics and project types, including projects outside their primary academic interests.
Successful RAs will be highly responsible, intellectually curious, organized, and able to work independently with limited day-to-day oversight. RAs are expected to manage deadlines, communicate proactively with faculty supervisors and Institute staff, and take ownership of assigned work.
Standard Position Description
The student will perform administrative and research tasks with some discretion under direction of faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: assisting with experiments, coding, data entry, data cleaning, and data analysis, preparing research and drafts for articles, reports, and/or presentations. Students may also complete literature reviews, draft summaries, and create graphs and figures. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.

Preferred Qualifications
