What is a remote SAP job?

A Remote SAP job involves working with SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) software from a location outside of a traditional office setting, often from home or another remote environment. Professionals in this role may be responsible for implementing, configuring, or supporting SAP modules such as finance, logistics, or human resources. Remote SAP jobs require strong technical skills, familiarity with SAP systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients online. These positions are popular due to the flexibility they offer and the global demand for SAP expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote SAP consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote SAP Consultant, you need in-depth knowledge of SAP modules, strong problem-solving abilities, and relevant experience, often supported by a degree in IT or business and SAP certifications. Familiarity with SAP systems (such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori), remote collaboration tools, and project management software is typically required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for effective client interaction and managing remote work challenges. These skills ensure efficient implementation, troubleshooting, and client satisfaction in dynamic, distributed work environments.

How does working remotely as an SAP consultant impact collaboration with clients and internal teams?

Remote SAP consultants typically use a combination of video conferencing, project management tools, and shared documentation platforms to maintain close communication with clients and internal teams. While physical distance can pose challenges for immediate feedback and relationship-building, most organizations have well-established protocols for virtual meetings, regular check-ins, and screen sharing to facilitate effective collaboration. Being proactive in communication and adaptable with time zones is essential for ensuring project milestones are met and client requirements are fully understood.

Sales Specialist – Power Protection

Full-Time | Permanent

Remote

Salary: $130,000–$150,000

Description

Our client is seeking a Sales Specialist – Power Protection to drive sales growth for its Power Protection business across the United States.

This is a technically oriented sales role focused on developing and closing opportunities. You’ll work closely with customers, Account Managers, and internal technical and business teams to develop proposals, negotiate solutions, and move opportunities through to successful order closure.

The ideal candidate combines strong sales experience in the electric power industry with practical knowledge of electrical test instruments and their applications.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and manage sales opportunities for Power Protection products.

  • Prepare accurate, competitive proposals and quotations.

  • Work with Strategic, Key, and Regional Account Managers to identify and develop customer opportunities.

  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations.

  • Clearly communicate the value of Power Protection products and solutions.

  • Build relationships with customer decision-makers and technical influencers.

  • Follow opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial identification to order closure.

  • Collaborate with product experts, technical teams, marketing, operations, and business leadership.

  • Develop account and opportunity strategies to support sales growth.

  • Monitor customer needs, competitor activity, and market trends.

  • Contribute to regional and business-unit sales targets and best practices.

What You Must Have

  • 5–10 years of sales experience, preferably in the electric power industry.

  • Experience selling electrical test, measurement, or related power-system equipment.

  • Practical knowledge of electrical test instruments and their applications.

  • Experience developing proposals, quotations, and commercial solutions.

  • Strong customer presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with account management, technical, product, and operations teams.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and priorities.

  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.

  • BA/BS degree; advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience selling into utilities, power-system customers, testing organizations, electrical contractors, or similar electric-power environments is especially valuable.

Why Join the Team

  • Join a technically focused sales organization in the growing power protection and electrical testing market.

  • Work with a broad range of customers and industry experts.

  • Have a direct impact on sales growth and business development.

  • Collaborate with experienced commercial, technical, and product teams.

Who Will Excel in This Role

This role is ideal for a commercially driven technical sales professional who understands the electric power industry and knows how to turn technical customer needs into successful business opportunities.

You’ll be especially well suited if you have experience with:

  • Protection or relay testing

  • Substation testing

  • Power-system testing and diagnostics

  • Electrical test and measurement equipment

  • Utility test equipment

  • Transmission, distribution, or generation customers

  • Technical sales to industrial power customers

This is not a pure applications engineering or technical support role. The successful candidate will be comfortable selling, negotiating, developing commercial solutions, and taking ownership of opportunities through to closure.

  • Salary: $130,000–$150,000

  • Remote position

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance — coverage begins day one, with the majority employer-paid
