What is a remote Salesforce engineer?

A Remote Salesforce Engineer is a technology professional who designs, develops, and maintains applications on the Salesforce platform while working from a location outside the traditional office, such as from home or another remote location. They are responsible for customizing Salesforce to meet business needs, integrating third-party applications, and ensuring data integrity and security. Remote Salesforce Engineers often collaborate with teams using online tools and are skilled in Salesforce development, configuration, and troubleshooting. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Salesforce engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Salesforce Engineer, you need a strong command of Salesforce platform development, Apex programming, and a solid understanding of CRM concepts, often supported by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Salesforce certifications like Salesforce Platform Developer I/II. Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce DX, Lightning Web Components, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and self-motivation are crucial for collaborating effectively and managing projects independently in a remote environment. These skills ensure the delivery of robust, scalable Salesforce solutions and facilitate seamless teamwork despite working remotely.

How does a remote Salesforce engineer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams when working from different locations?

As a Remote Salesforce Engineer, you will regularly collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product managers, business analysts, and QA specialists through virtual meetings, project management tools, and shared documentation platforms. Effective communication and proactive participation are crucial to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and technical requirements. You'll often use tools like Slack, Jira, and Salesforce's own collaboration features to stay connected, manage tasks, and resolve issues efficiently. Building strong relationships remotely requires consistency and openness, but it also offers flexibility and exposure to diverse team dynamics.

About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
The Experience
Qualified is the #1 Agentic Marketing platform for revenue teams that run on Salesforce, based in San Francisco or remote. At the center of our product is Piper, our AI SDR, who engages website visitors in real time through chat, voice, and video. We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the website experience end to end - the conversations visitors have with Piper the moment they land on a customer's site, and the messenger surface that carries them. Hundreds of the world's leading brands - including Crunchbase, Asana, and Box - choose Qualified to increase lead conversions, generate more meetings, and improve efficiency within their inbound pipeline motion. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll lead efforts to deliver new features and products, working with customers and analyzing metrics to evaluate opportunities and define strategic direction, while collaborating closely with product designers, engineers, marketing, sales, and our customer team to plan, execute, and launch products. This is a high-visibility role at the center of our roadmap, suited to technologists, innovators, and problem solvers who want to shape uncharted territory in AI for B2B marketing.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
  • Own and evolve Piper on the website: lead the end-to-end visitor experience across the website.
  • Turn ambiguity into a clear product roadmap: work with customers and stakeholders to identify opportunities, facilitate debate, build consensus, and translate emerging ideas into well-reasoned requirements, priorities, and launch plans.
  • Partner deeply across teams: collaborate with design, engineering, AI teams, marketing, sales, and customer teams to build, launch, and mature high-quality products.
  • Define and monitor success: establish the north star and supporting metrics for the website, then monitor response quality, i18n/localization behavior, latency, website performance impact, and visitor experience quality.
  • Leverage AI tools throughout the full product development lifecycle - from synthesizing customer feedback at scale and generating lightweight specs, to rapid prototyping and solution validation with engineering and design.

You're Our Person If...
  • You have 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning a product area end to end in a fast-moving B2B SaaS environment.
  • You have strong technical and product literacy; you partner deeply with engineering and design, engage with technical tradeoffs, and can translate ideas into clear product requirements and roadmaps.
  • You have excellent cross-functional communication skills; you can facilitate debate, drive consensus, and represent the product area clearly to executives, stakeholders, engineering, design, sales, marketing, customer teams, and customers.
  • You demonstrate AI fluency - you actively use AI across your PM workflows, including customer insight synthesis, spec generation, prototyping, and backlog prioritization, and can speak to the outcomes it's driven. A related technical degree required.

Even Better If...
  • Experience with conversational, chat, messaging, marketing automation, or other real-time/AI-driven product surfaces.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g. Claude, Figma AI, vibe-coding tools) to build working prototypes for customer validation and engineering alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate change and lead independently, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.

Unleash Your Potential
When you join Salesforce, you'll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance and be your best, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you can do your best. Together, we'll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love. Apply today to not only shape the future - but to redefine what's possible - for yourself, for AI, and the world.
