Remote Saas Attorney information

What is a remote SaaS attorney?

A Remote SaaS Attorney is a legal professional who specializes in Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements and technology law, providing legal services remotely rather than from a traditional office. Their work typically includes drafting and negotiating SaaS contracts, advising on data privacy and intellectual property issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. They serve tech companies, startups, and individuals involved in cloud-based software businesses, offering flexible legal support from any location. Remote SaaS Attorneys often use digital tools to communicate with clients and manage legal documents securely online.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote SaaS attorney?

To thrive as a Remote SaaS Attorney, you need expertise in contract law, technology transactions, intellectual property, and data privacy, typically supported by a Juris Doctor degree and bar admission. Familiarity with contract management software, e-signature platforms, and compliance tools like GDPR frameworks is commonly required. Excellent written communication, negotiation, and the ability to work autonomously are vital soft skills in this remote role. These qualifications ensure effective legal support, risk mitigation, and seamless collaboration with SaaS clients and teams across jurisdictions.

What are some common challenges faced by remote SaaS attorneys when advising clients across different jurisdictions?

Remote SaaS attorneys often navigate complex legal landscapes because software-as-a-service products frequently serve clients in multiple states or countries. This can present challenges related to varying data privacy laws, contract enforcement, and compliance requirements. Staying up to date with cross-jurisdictional regulations and effectively communicating remotely with both clients and internal teams are essential skills. Proactively coordinating with local counsel and leveraging technology tools for secure collaboration can help mitigate these challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and scale the GTM Solutions team, including hiring, coaching, and developing Solutions Attorneys and Specialists.

  • Partner with Sales leadership to align Solutions coverage with pipeline priorities and ensure the team is deployed against high-impact opportunities.

Job description

GC AI is the legal AI platform built for in-house legal teams. Your decisions shape the product, your impact is immediate, and you own your work from day one.
More than 2,000 companies run their legal work on GC AI, including 200+ public companies, 25+ unicorns, and teams at News Corp, Nestlé, Miro, Bass Pro Shops, Snyk, Skims, Liquid Death, Vercel, Zscaler, and TIME. The platform holds an 80 NPS, more than double the B2B SaaS industry average, which is why GC AI is the leading legal AI platform for companies of all sizes.
GC AI doubled ARR in six months. We raised a $60 million Series B at a $555 million valuation in November 2025 and won #1 Highest Customer Satisfaction at the 2026 SaaS Awards. Our investors include Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel.
You'll define how things get built, not follow someone else's playbook. Six principles guide how the team works:
  • 1% Better Every Day: small, compounding improvements across everything you ship.
  • ♥ Customer Obsession: start with the customer and work backward.
  • Ship Today: bias toward action and iteration over perfection.
  • Find a Way: resourcefulness and ambition over constraint.
  • Care: be direct, like an honest friend, even when it's uncomfortable.
  • Own It: full accountability, proactive communication, and attention to detail.
Location(s)
We are hiring for this role to be based in the United States or Canada. This is a remote role unless you fall within the following parameters. If you live within approximately 50 miles of our San Mateo, CA or Provo, UT office, the position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
About The Role
GC AI's Solutions organization is the strategic bridge between our technology and our customers. As the Director, Pre-Sales Solutions, you'll build and run the GTM-focused Solutions Attorney team that partners directly with Sales to drive revenue in complex, high-stakes deals. You'll own the team's staffing model, triage process, and operating rhythm, ensuring every pitch delivers tailored, high-impact demonstrations of GC AI's value to legal teams. This role reports to Andrew Conley, CRO.
Travel may be up to 25% of the time.
What You'll Do
  • Build and scale the GTM Solutions team, including hiring, coaching, and developing Solutions Attorneys and Specialists across enterprise and mid-market segments.
  • Own the staffing and resource allocation model, maintaining alignment ratios that flex by segment (e.g., Enterprise vs. Strategic AEs) and geographic coverage to match sales team growth.
  • Design and enforce the deal triage process, implementing a formalized intake SOP so every sales support request is qualified, prioritized, and resourced based on deal size and complexity.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to align Solutions coverage with pipeline priorities, forecast resource demand, and ensure the team is deployed against the highest-impact opportunities.
  • Raise the bar on demo quality and technical depth, ensuring Solutions Attorneys deliver tailored demonstrations grounded in prospect-specific legal workflows, not generic feature tours.
  • Create the feedback loop between Solutions and Sales, briefing reps on technical workflows before meetings and ensuring Solutions receives full prospect context before every call.
  • Drive team development, assigning junior team members to mid-market deals for hands-on training while deploying senior attorneys on complex enterprise pitches.

Required Experience
  • 5+ years managing a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Pre-Sales team at a high-growth SaaS company.
  • Track record of scaling a pre-sales function alongside a rapidly growing sales organization.
  • Experience designing and operationalizing resource allocation models, triage processes, and team operating rhythms.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills, with demonstrated ability to build trust and operating cadence with Sales leadership and AEs.
  • Excellent communication and coaching ability, with a hands-on approach to developing talent at multiple experience levels.

Nice To Have
  • Experience selling to or supporting legal, compliance, or GRC buyers.
  • Background in AI, legal tech, or workflow automation products.
  • Familiarity with enterprise sales cycles involving security reviews, procurement, and multi-stakeholder evaluation.
  • Experience at a company that scaled from Series A/B through Series C+ growth stages.

A Note On Pace
We're building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren't perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn't the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We're excited to meet you.
How We Work Together
GC AI is a distributed company with team members across North America, and soon Europe. We believe that because our business is AI, human connection matters more, not less. We invest in bringing people together through our hub model: regular coworking sessions, customer dinners, team and company offsites. If you're in a location without an office, expect up to 10% travel (and more for customer-facing roles).
Team members in the San Francisco Bay Area and Provo, UT (within 50 miles of the office) work together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we grow, we plan to establish permanent offices in more hub cities, and we will look to our team members to help build that in-person culture. We currently hire across the United States and Canada.
