Summary:  The Software Developer will primarily program in C#.NET and work with SQL Server databases in support of Dismas Development efforts. The majority of the development work will be on custom .NET MVC applications and libraries, including HTML/JavaScript UI work. This position will also assist the Senior Software Developer and Development Team Lead with application support as needed. Additional programming and analysis work to support the overall IT Department and corporate goals may also be assigned based on skills and needs of the team.

Shift Schedule: Full-Time. 40 hours per week. **(variable as needed)

  • Available to work from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST.
  • This position will go hybrid after initial training is complete.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works closely with the Senior Software Developer and Software Development Team Lead to build reliable, best-in-class solutions in support of Dismas Charities' operational requirements.
  • Develops new and maintains existing C#.NET / MVC Web Applications.
  • Ensures all work is properly checked in to Azure DevOps Source Control [git].
  • Works with SQL Server databases to maintain and enhance existing databases, stored procedures and tables.
  • Analyzes requirements and implements solutions using .NET and SQL Server to meet these requirements.
  • Works with existing and builds new SQL Server reports to provide data to end users in a useful format.
  • Provides application support to end users.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or demonstrably equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and oral forms.
  • Ability to work with end users in a respectful way in order to resolve any issue they may be experiencing with the software the Dismas team has built.
  • 1 to 5 years practical Software Development experience using Microsoft .NET and SQL Server tools and technologies.
  • Willingness to handle occasional on-call duties at a Tier 3 level of support.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for work. This position does not require frequent travel, however, if a remote candidate (outside the Louisville Metro area) is selected, they must be able to:
    • Attend a two week initial orientation period at the corporate office in Louisville, KY.
    • Attend the 1 week annual Dismas Leadership Conference held in Louisville, KY. This is typically held in June or July each year.
    • Attend other meetings at the corporate office as required, these would be no more than 2 to 3 times per year.
    • Willingness to travel to one or two of our locations around the United States for support or hands-on experience to see how our end-users use the systems we build and maintain.
