Job description

Software Engineer (Python / Go / Rust) – AWS Cloud Systems

About the Role
We're hiring a Backend Software Engineer to design and build high-performance, scalable systems running in the cloud. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who genuinely understands how systems work under the hood — not just someone who's used a set of frameworks. You'll work on distributed backend services, solve hard infrastructure problems, and help shape technical direction alongside a strong engineering team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and maintaining backend services and APIs deployed on cloud infrastructure
  • Writing production-grade code in Python, Go, Rust, or similar languages
  • Designing distributed systems that are fault-tolerant, highly available, and built to scale
  • Architecting RESTful APIs and service-to-service communication
  • Working across the full stack — application, infrastructure, and cloud — to resolve complex technical issues
  • Troubleshooting production issues related to performance, reliability, and networking
  • Driving sound architectural and technology decisions based on real system needs
  • Writing automated tests and upholding strong code quality standards
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and deployment automation
  • Partnering closely with fellow engineers and product stakeholders
  • Participating in code reviews and system design conversations
  • Continuously improving scalability, performance, and operational reliability

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of professional experience building backend systems in production
  • Strong hands-on skills in Python and/or a statically typed language (Go, Rust, Java, C++, C#, etc.)
  • Solid grounding in core computer science and software engineering fundamentals
  • Strong grasp of networking basics — TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and API design
  • Experience architecting and building distributed backend services and APIs
  • Real-world experience deploying and operating applications in a major cloud environment
  • Comfort with databases, data modeling, and performance tuning
  • Ability to independently debug and resolve complex production issues
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Cloud & Infrastructure Experience

  • Practical experience with core cloud services (container orchestration, serverless compute, object storage, managed databases, messaging/queueing, monitoring)
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines
  • Understanding of observability, logging, and production operations practices

Nice to Have

  • Fluency in both Python and a statically typed language, especially Go or Rust
  • Experience building low-latency or high-throughput systems
  • Background in distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architecture
  • Strong understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programming
  • Comfort working in Linux, cloud-native environments
  • Experience in a fast-paced, technically demanding industry (fintech, trading, payments, or similar)
  • Curiosity about modern AI/ML tooling and developer platforms

Ideal Candidate Profile
We're looking for engineers who go beyond the tools they use — people who understand the systems and concepts underneath, who've built and run real production infrastructure, and who are equally comfortable in dynamically and statically typed languages. If you like solving problems from first principles and enjoy learning new technology quickly, this role is built for you.
