Reporting to an Associate Director of Engineering, Member Growth, this senior engineer will develop full-stack AI-powered features that improve how members discover and engage with care. This role is part of the Member Growth team and is instrumental in delivering intuitive, reliable user experiences at scale.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based in New York City, with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 days per week at our 60 Madison Avenue location. Candidates must be based in the NYC metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on-sites.
What you'll do:
  • Design and build scalable full-stack services using Python, Ruby on Rails, React, and GraphQL
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve member experience using AI-powered features
  • Expand and maintain existing web applications and infrastructure
  • Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Provide technical leadership in architectural discussions, code reviews, and system planning
  • Advocate for high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and observability
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
  • Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholders
  • Lead initiatives to define and implement scalable system designs
  • Own technical delivery for complex projects or subsystems
  • Break down ambiguous or complex requirements into manageable, shippable units

What success looks like:
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and with high stakeholder satisfaction
  • Maintain high system uptime and low defect rates through strong testing and observability practices
  • Partner effectively with product, design, data, or other teams, contributing meaningfully to team goals and alignment

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on full-stack development
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages Python, Ruby on Rails, or React
  • Proven ability to independently lead the delivery of complex technical projects
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience designing scalable, maintainable system architecture
  • Familiarity with observability and experimentation tools such as Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Mixpanel, Iterable
  • Bonus: Experience with LangGraph, LangSmith, or AI/ML
  • Background in healthcare or regulated environments

The target base salary range for this position is $159,100 - $196,480, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Databaseat minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
