What is a remote RRT?

A Remote RRT, or Remote Registered Respiratory Therapist, is a licensed healthcare professional who provides respiratory care services to patients via telehealth or remote platforms. These professionals assess, monitor, and manage patients with respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and COVID-19 from a distance. They utilize digital tools and communication technologies to collaborate with patients and healthcare teams, ensuring quality care regardless of location. Remote RRTs may work for hospitals, telemedicine companies, or home health agencies, helping to expand access to respiratory therapy services.

How does working as a remote RRT differ from traditional on-site roles in terms of daily responsibilities and collaboration?

As a Remote RRT, your daily responsibilities often focus on telehealth services such as patient assessments, monitoring, and education conducted via digital platforms, rather than direct bedside care. While you may not perform hands-on procedures, you will collaborate closely with on-site medical teams, physicians, and patients to develop and adjust care plans. Communication skills and proficiency with telemedicine technology are essential, as you’ll coordinate care and troubleshoot issues remotely. This role offers more schedule flexibility and can reduce commute time, but it also requires strong self-motivation and adaptability to changing workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote RRT, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you need a valid RRT credential, a thorough understanding of respiratory care procedures, and experience in clinical assessment and patient management. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and remote monitoring systems is often required. Strong communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills are essential for effectively supporting patients and collaborating with healthcare teams from a distance. These skills ensure accurate patient care, seamless virtual collaboration, and high-quality outcomes in a remote healthcare environment.

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team, primarily focusing on the therapeutic needs of children and families. This full-time, remote position allows you to provide vital in-community therapy services primarily during after-school hours, making it ideal for professionals looking to balance work with personal commitments. You will play a critical role in improving the mental well-being of children with developmental disabilities and their families.

About the Organization

At Gotham Enterprises Ltd, we are committed to enhancing the lives of children and adolescents facing developmental and intellectual challenges. Our comprehensive Youth & Family Support Services are designed to assist primary caregivers in navigating the complexities of social, emotional, and behavioral hurdles. Our organization prides itself on creating a supportive and nurturing environment where our professionals can thrive while making a significant impact on the families we serve.

Work Environment

This position is offered remotely, allowing you to connect with clients in their homes or from our outpatient office as needed. Our flexible work environment promotes a dynamic balance between personal and professional life, empowering you to focus on providing high-quality therapeutic services while enjoying the operational autonomy associated with working independently. You will also be part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to each client's therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home therapy or specialized group therapy sessions at our outpatient facility, tailored to meet the needs of children with diverse behavioral issues.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques to provide support in areas such as anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills.
  • Work closely with families to enhance decision-making skills for managing in-home behavioral challenges, aiming for positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professional disciplines to ensure an integrated approach to care and treatment.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation including treatment plans, progress notes, and intake forms, all submitted within specified timeframes.
  • Engage in monthly professional meetings to discuss client progress and share insights, contributing valuable recommendations to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with children aged 3-20 who are facing emotional and behavioral challenges related to developmental disabilities. Your expertise will guide them through their unique experiences, providing essential support and strategies to enable healthier behaviors and interactions. Given the complexity often associated with these cases, a bilingual background in Spanish or Portuguese is highly advantageous, allowing for better communication and a deeper understanding of the cultural contexts in which our clients operate.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly, primarily during after-school hours (4 PM to 7 PM), with weekend availability being an asset.
Preferred Experience
  • Professional experience in providing positive behavior support.
  • Prior experience working with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for potential travel to clients’ homes.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive benefits that promote your well-being, including:

  • A vibrant and dynamic work environment that champions teamwork and professional satisfaction.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development and training.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage to support your physical and mental health needs.
  • Annual paid time off to recharge and pursue personal interests.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance for peace of mind.
  • A 401K plan to help secure your financial future.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Gotham Enterprises Ltd, we value professional growth and development. You will have the opportunity to pursue additional training, certifications, and leadership roles within the organization. Our commitment to fostering your career allows you to expand your expertise and take on more responsibilities as you evolve in your role.

Why Join Our Team

Joining our team at Gotham Enterprises Ltd means you will be part of a mission-driven organization committed to transforming the lives of children and families. You will have the chance to build meaningful relationships, empower youth, and collaborate with passionate colleagues.
