Position Overview

The Healing Mind and Soul Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position invites licensed professionals to provide essential intensive in-community therapeutic services to children facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges across Texas. With a salary range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually, this role provides skilled therapists with a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and their families.

Work Environment

This role operates in a flexible remote setting, enabling therapists to conduct sessions from the comfort of their own homes while making a significant difference in the lives of children and their families. However, you will also collaborate closely with the outpatient office and be part of a vibrant and supportive team dedicated to mental health initiatives. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in community-based therapy sessions, enhancing your professional development and advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions and supportive group therapy meetings in consultation with the outpatient office.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques to address anger management, social skills development, and other coping strategies while reducing high-risk behaviors like self-injury or aggression.
  • Enhance decision-making skills among youth and their caregivers to better manage in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals to provide holistic support for youth and their families.
  • Accurately document all required materials, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within established timeframes.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to share insights and recommendations, contributing to our collective knowledge and efficacy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus is on serving children aged 3 to 20 who present with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Therapists will work with families from diverse backgrounds, striving to provide culturally responsive and bilingual support particularly for Spanish and Portuguese-speaking clients. Each therapist will adapt their methodology to meet the specific needs of the children and families they support, ensuring an individualized approach to care that truly changes lives.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Valid and unrestricted LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4 PM to 7 PM, with additional weekend availability considered a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing positive behavior support to children and adolescents.
  • Previous work with children exhibiting developmental and intellectual disabilities is strongly preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
