Remote Role Player information

What is a Remote Role Player?

A Remote Role Player is a professional who participates in training exercises, simulations, or assessments—often for organizations such as law enforcement, the military, healthcare, or customer service—by acting out specific scenarios from a remote location, usually over video calls or specialized software. Their main job is to portray realistic situations that help trainees or employees practice communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Working remotely allows greater flexibility and access to a wider range of role players, enhancing the realism and variety of training simulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote role player?

To thrive as a Remote Role Player, you need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately follow role-play scenarios, often supported by experience in acting or training simulations. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms, scenario scripting tools, and secure communication systems is typically required. Adaptability, professionalism, and emotional intelligence help individuals excel by creating realistic interactions and providing valuable feedback. These skills are essential for delivering high-quality, consistent simulations that support effective training or assessment programs.

How does a remote role player typically collaborate with training facilitators and other team members during simulation exercises?

As a Remote Role Player, you will regularly interact with training facilitators and other role players to create realistic and effective simulation environments, often via video conferencing platforms. Collaboration involves participating in pre-brief meetings to align on scenarios, receiving real-time feedback during exercises, and contributing to debrief sessions to improve future simulations. Maintaining clear communication and adapting quickly to changes in scenarios are key, as you may need to adjust your performance based on facilitator cues or evolving training objectives. This teamwork ensures that participants receive a consistent and impactful learning experience.

About
This is a fully remote role within the United States.
For over 25 years, NEOGOV has been at the forefront of public-sector innovation, building technology that helps government and education organizations work smarter, move faster, and better serve their communities.
We are a team of cutting-edge technologists, operators, and problem-solvers with top-tier skills and a shared ambition: to build the most efficient operating model in GovTech. We combine deep public-sector expertise with modern SaaS practices, AI-enabled workflows, and a relentless focus on execution.
At our core, we are a people-first company. We empower our customers to support the public servants they employ, the communities they serve, and the talented teams that bring our platform to life.
Our solutions support the entire employee journey, from hire to retire. By transforming complex HR and compliance workflows into simple, intuitive experiences, we help public-sector organizations reduce friction, improve efficiency, and focus on what matters most: making a difference.
NEOGOV is looking for a Project Manager for our PowerDMS Implementations. In this position, you will work with a team of highly skilled consultants, managers, developers, and subject matter experts. This position's primary purpose is to manage project teams on customer engagements to ensure project deliverables and milestones are met. This position will lead project teams for various implementation projects simultaneously.
This posting is for an existing vacancy.
What You Will do
  • Project Architecture & Delivery: Own the development of comprehensive project plans, milestones, and key deliverables. Monitor and report on progress throughout the entire implementation lifecycle, ensuring projects launch on time and within scope.
  • Risk Mitigation & Problem Solving: Conduct rigorous risk assessments early in the engagement. Proactively identify bottlenecks, technical hurdles, or scope creep, and implement mitigation strategies before they impact the timeline.
  • Scope & Requirements Engineering: Lead discovery sessions to gather, confirm, and document business and technical requirements. Define the implementation scope, map out configuration workflows, and allocate internal resources effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central hub between the client and internal teams. Partner closely with Sales, Product, Customer Support and Customer Success to escalate technical bugs, advocate for client feature requests, and ensure seamless handoffs.
  • Client Advocacy & Stakeholder Management: Guide client stakeholders-from IT admins to C-suite executives-through change management, driving platform adoption and keeping them accountable to their implementation responsibilities.
  • Process Optimization: Don't just follow the playbook-help write it. Contribute to internal initiatives aimed at scaling, automating, and standardizing our onboarding methodologies to reduce onboarding cycle times

Who You Are
  • An Exceptional Communicator: You possess elite written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. You can translate complex technical SaaS concepts into plain English for non-technical users, and vice-versa.
  • A Master of Prioritization: High-velocity environments energize you. You have bulletproof time-management skills and a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent enterprise-level implementations without letting balls drop.
  • A Diplomatic Leader: You are a strong, empathetic leader who can command a room. You know how to influence without authority, keeping both internal developers and external client champions aligned and moving toward milestones.
  • A Proactive Problem Solver: You don't wait for a fire to start to look for an extinguisher. You are a self-starter who looks at a broken process or a delayed launch as a puzzle to solve creatively.
  • A Team Player: You operate with a collaborative mindset, actively sharing best practices, templates, and lessons learned to elevate the entire Implementation team.
Success Metrics (KPIs for the Role)
  • Time-to-Value (TTV): Average days from contract signing to client "Go-Live."
  • Number of Go-Lives: Number of projects that successfully completed.
  • Median Cycle Time (MCT): Median Kickoff to Go-Live duration.
  • Project Health: Percentage of projects delivered on time and within the original scope.

What you have:
Experience: 3-5 years of project management experience, specifically onboarding B2B SaaS solutions or enterprise software. Experience working with public sector/public safety clients is a plus.
Tools: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., GuideCX, Clickup, Jira, Smartsheet) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Gainsight). Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, or traditional Waterfall project management frameworks (PMP or CSM certifications are preferred).
What NEOGOV Offers
  • Comprehensive Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.) for full-time employees
  • Generous PTO to support work-life balance
  • Remote working opportunities
  • 401K Matching
