As a Market Research Data Analyst, you will support the continued expansion of market research as a service.
Location of position: Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Customer Market Research Service Center.

This position can be located in any of the following locations: Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Fort Worth, TX; Kansas City, MO; Lakewood, CO; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; and Tacoma, WA.
The Federal Acquisition Services (FAS), Customer Market Research Service Center leverages research and analytics and in-depth knowledge of prior market research; defines and identifies suppliers, their capabilities, and their contacts; and provides a comprehensive market research report, including contract suggestions and socioeconomics.
As a Market Research Data Analyst, you will be responsible for performing the following duties:
  • Provide advice and expertise to managers on using data and research findings to prepare strategic market research plans. Conduct research and analysis on the market, selected strategic accounts, new business opportunities, and trend and spend analysis using available data sources and contractor support when necessary.
  • Identify patterns in data and convert raw data and other research findings into usable analysis and make recommendations for a wide range of clients and purposes.
  • Leverage understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to automate high-volume, repetitive, and rule-based digital tasks. Leverage understanding of the UiPath platform for data entry, extraction, system migration, report generation, and automated customer service communications.
  • Conduct studies of customer needs and private sector vendors who compete in the same product space as the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). Prepare and conduct briefings for various stakeholders, including higher level management, to explain analysis of market research trends, provide recommendations or action plans, and propose guidance and direction for implementation of recommendations.
  • Develop new market research principles and techniques to effectively access targeted industry audiences. Develop guidelines and standards regarding data analysis, evaluation, and presentation in order to maximize the usefulness of this data to various clients.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $108,173 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the federal service.
Specialized Experience is:
  • Drafting market research documents (i.e. Performance Work Statement (PWS), Statement of Work (SOW), Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE)) to gather industry responses for determining customer agency acquisition requirements;
  • Assisting senior specialists in analyzing customer feedback to identify areas for quality improvement ensuring consistent delivery of market research services; and
  • Presenting briefings to stakeholders to explain analysis findings of market research trends.
