• Conduct in-depth preliminary assessments and maintain comprehensive documentation from initial consultations through various treatment stages.
• Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of clients, employing standardized assessment tools when necessary.
• Design individualized treatment and recovery plans for a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailored to their specific challenges and goals.
• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, both individually and in group settings, employing evidence-based techniques to promote client insight and growth.
• Monitor client progress consistently, adapting treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations of client needs and feedback.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain communication with external providers for clients requiring hospital admissions or specialized interventions.
• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing crisis intervention strategies as needed.
• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges effectively.

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse client population facing various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and relational difficulties. You will engage with clients from different backgrounds, taking into consideration their unique cultural and socioeconomic contexts, to provide empathetic and tailored care that fosters trust and engagement in the therapeutic process.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to efficiently document client information and treatment plans.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions, including comorbid physical health issues and addiction, ensuring holistic treatment approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that facilitate effective collaboration with clients and healthcare teams.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy, professionalism, and a client-centered approach.

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor in clinical, community, or private practice settings.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
• In-depth knowledge of pharmacological treatments and their effects as prescribed by medical professionals.
