Job description

Role: Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Kubernetes Platform
Location: San Jose, CA (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Visa Type: U.S. Citizen (Must be eligible to obtain U.S. Security Clearance)

Must-Have Qualifications:

✔ 10+ years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering

✔ Strong production experience managing Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS, GKE, or upstream Kubernetes)

✔ Hands-on experience supporting FedRAMP High and/or DoD IL5 regulated environments

✔ Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, Linux administration, and networking fundamentals

✔ Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

✔ Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD

✔ Proficiency in Python and/or Go for scripting, automation, and platform engineering

✔ Experience implementing and managing observability platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and ELK Stack

✔ Strong understanding of compliance frameworks including NIST 800-53, STIGs, RMF, and security best practices

✔ Experience designing, building, and operating highly available Kubernetes platforms in production

✔ Experience defining and managing SLOs, SLIs, and Error Budgets to improve platform reliability

✔ Ability to automate operational processes and reduce manual toil through infrastructure automation

✔ Experience implementing secure, scalable, and developer-friendly CI/CD and GitOps workflows

✔ Experience supporting ATO processes, audit readiness, compliance documentation, and security controls

✔ Strong experience with incident response, root cause analysis, blameless postmortems, and on-call support

✔ Strong communication, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills

✔ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (preferred)

Nice-to-Have Skills:

✔ Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)

✔ Policy-as-Code tools (OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno)

✔ GitOps implementation experience

✔ Multi-cluster Kubernetes or Hybrid Cloud architecture experience

✔ Knowledge of FIPS-compliant systems or DoD Cloud SRG

✔ Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKS, Cloud Certifications, or CompTIA Security+
