About the job  

SAS is seeking a dynamic individual with high energy and drive to join our team as a Sr. Risk Sales Solution Specialist. The Solution Specialist hunts for new opportunities and partners with field Account Executives to sell complex technical Risk products, solutions and services to prospective and current customers in the Financial Services Industry. The Solution Specialist will provide in-depth Product, Solutions and industry expertise to identify, develop and close deals within the assigned territory. Our Risk solutions set include Integrated Balance Sheet Management, Credit Risk Management, Model Risk Management, and Actuarial Risk Management.

As a Sr. Risk Solutions Sales Specialist, you will:

  • Find new Risk Solution opportunities inside large financial institutions and insurance companies across North America.
  • Collaborate with field Account Executives to sell specified software, solutions and/or services to current and prospective customers.
  • Responsible for the Risk Solution Sales Strategy for the assigned territory to achieve territory targets.
  • Initiate and supports lead generation activities and integrate strategy into overall account plan.
  • Qualify leads by analyzing business drivers and technical fit. Qualify opportunities according to established process.
  • Function as the Risk Sales Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned territory as well as our Customers and Prospects
  • Liaise with internal SAS teams (Product, services, SMEs) to identify industry trends, identify new offerings and align sales strategy/sales campaigns.
  • Understanding the market, competition, and customer needs to drive the SAS Risk Strategy for the assigned territory.
  • Develop opportunities by managing and influencing requirements to gain competitive edge. Creates and presents sales proposals and systems solutions to successfully communicate the value of the company's products and services. Leverages pre-sales engineering resources as appropriate.
  • Preparing tailored quotes and proposal information as needed. Communicate with other departments to create and finalize contracts and set time schedules for services.
  • Facilitate closure of complex sales. Assists with pricing negotiations and licensing questions.
  • Post-close, transitions customers to Professional Services for design/deployment. May monitor customers to track satisfaction levels and to discover additional revenue opportunities.
  • May assist Product Marketing and/or Research and Development by providing information for future product direction.
  • Ensures all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals. 

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of Sales experience with at least 3 years focused on selling Risk solutions.
  • Experience in selling or implementing enterprise application software solutions (application plus services).
  • Ability to position the Company, its products and services in the marketplace vs. competitors.
  • Proactive, collaborative and customer-focused
  • Ability to travel. 
  • Knowledge of basic sales techniques; knowledge of hardware and/or software acquisitions cycles and buying influences. 
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience hunting and selling Risk products/solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the Risk market space and Risk experience in ALM (a.k.a. Balance Sheet Management), Actuarial Risk or Enterprise Decisioning solutions
