What We Look For In a Finance Tutor

Guides students through constructing pro forma financial statements, evaluating investment projects, computing WACC, analyzing leverage effects, and applying portfolio diversification principles. Emphasizes connecting financial theory to real-world corporate decision-making and applies concepts to mergers, IPOs, and financial planning.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with undergraduate finance curricula and common challenges such as mastering time value of money calculations, understanding risk adjustment in valuation, and interpreting financial ratios. Adapts instruction using financial calculators, Excel modeling exercises, and case study analysis to support students from introductory corporate finance through advanced investments and financial management courses.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
