The Data Engineer 2 will develop scalable data processing architectures and solutions that facilitate the efficient transformation of structured and unstructured data into insights across the enterprise. You will work on diverse assignments that require interpretation to determine the most appropriate course of action. You will report to the Lead Data Engineer.

You will ingest data from internal and external sources using cloud-native platforms and applies industry-standard software development practices and patterns. You will develop capabilities using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data techniques to transform data, allowing Humana to enhance service delivery for members. You will contribute to shape departmental strategy and make decisions regarding technical approaches to complex project components, exercising considerable latitude in setting goals and methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 2+ years' technical experience in data analysis or engineering.

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Assess complex data sets and conduct root cause analysis.

  • Experience using data to improve outcomes and decisions.

  • Can work in the EST time zone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience working with healthcare data from diverse EHRs, and an understanding of Membership, Medicare Risk Adjustment, and quality metrics (such as HEDIS).

  • Experience working with Snowflake Cloud.

  • Experience with the Azure ecosystem.

  • Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) framework.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$97,900 - $133,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
