Remote Retail Planogram Designer information

What is a remote retail planogram designer?

A Remote Retail Planogram Designer is a professional who creates visual diagrams, or planograms, that outline the placement of products on shelves in retail stores, but works remotely rather than on-site. These designers use specialized software to optimize product arrangement for maximum sales and customer convenience, collaborating with retailers and brands online or via virtual meetings. Their work helps stores improve product visibility, inventory management, and overall shopping experience, all while allowing the designer to work from any location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote retail planogram designer?

To thrive as a Remote Retail Planogram Designer, you need expertise in visual merchandising, spatial planning, and retail analytics, often supported by a degree in design, marketing, or a related field. Proficiency in planogram software such as Nielsen Spaceman or JDA Space Planning, as well as familiarity with retail management systems, is typically required. Strong attention to detail, creativity, and effective communication are vital soft skills for collaborating with teams and executing visually appealing layouts. These skills ensure optimal product placement, enhanced shopper experience, and increased sales for retail clients.

How does a remote retail planogram designer typically collaborate with in-store teams and other stakeholders to ensure planogram accuracy and effectiveness?

As a Remote Retail Planogram Designer, you will frequently collaborate with in-store teams, merchandisers, and category managers through digital tools and regular virtual meetings. Communication is key to ensuring your designs are practical and align with store layouts, inventory levels, and sales goals. You may need to provide detailed planogram instructions, answer questions, and occasionally troubleshoot implementation issues remotely. Building strong working relationships and maintaining clear, consistent documentation are vital for success in this collaborative environment.

BIMM

Toronto, ON โ€ข Remote

Re-posted 13 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain agentic systems that can plan, use tools, generate outputs, self-check, detect failures, retry where appropriate, escalate when needed, and fail safely.

  • Develop agents and skills that support application generation, automation, and delivery workflows based on user needs, business requirements, and platform standards.

  • Build reliable evaluation pipelines for agent and skill outputs, including golden datasets, regression suites, LLM-as-judge scoring, and measurable quality metrics.

Job description

BIMM is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Agentic Developer (on contract until Dec 24, 2026) to join our team.

Local candidates (GTHA) will be asked to join us at BIMM HQ (Distillery District) 2 days per week. We are open to remote candidates across Canada - you will be required to work on EST hours.

Who we are

BIMM is a Toronto-based agency that lives at the intersection of data, technology, and creativity to provide clients with high-performing campaigns and digital products that shape connected customer experiences. We've helped our clients implement fully integrated CRM customer journeys, built robust digital experiences, and created national loyalty programs with decades of experience in sectors of automotive, financial, telco and retail.

We are creative realists, which means our ideas and solutions are grounded in the realities of our clients' business. We believe big ideas are nothing without big results (and flawless execution); high-performing agencies deliver high-performing campaigns, products, and experiences; and the best solutions happen when we collaborate with clients as partners.

This is a pipelining opportunity in anticipating of growth.

Who we're looking for

You design and build agentic systems that can reason through tasks, use tools effectively, generate high-quality outputs, and operate reliably in production. You're comfortable working across application logic, cloud infrastructure, model integration, evaluation pipelines, and guardrails, turning emerging AI capabilities into practical software that solves real business problems.

You're a strong collaborator who can also lead complex technical work independently. You know how to research ambiguous problems, shape a technical approach, ask for help when it matters, and bring teammates along through clear communication and thoughtful documentation. In this role, you'll directly support our client Audi and help shape the development of their digital platform.

Initiative comes naturally to you. You spot opportunities, move work forward without waiting to be chased, and bring an innovative mindset to both client delivery and internal engineering practices. You're excited by the chance to help define how BIMM builds, tests, and ships agentic software for real client environments.

Technology Requirements
To ensure a secure and compatible working environment, the following technology requirements must be met:

  • Use a Mac device (Linux or other OS not supported)
  • macOS Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura are not permitted
  • Device must be less than 4 years old
  • Agree to have us install and maintain BIMM's security tools on your device. These tools must remain active, with all permissions and configurations unchanged for the duration of the contract

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain agentic systems that can plan, use tools, generate outputs, self-check, detect failures, retry where appropriate, escalate when needed, and fail safely.
  • Develop agents and skills that support application generation, automation, and delivery workflows based on user needs, business requirements, and platform standards.
  • Build reliable evaluation pipelines for agent and skill outputs, including golden datasets, regression suites, LLM-as-judge scoring, and measurable quality metrics.
  • Define strict input and output contracts for tools and agent skills using typed schemas, structured errors, and schema-constrained response formats.
  • Own the prompt engineering lifecycle for assigned tools and skills, including version-controlled templates, structured inputs, clear role separation, and reproducible testing.
  • Contribute to BIMM's MCP tooling catalog by implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining MCP-compatible integrations.
  • Partner with product, strategy, UX, and engineering teams to translate business goals into practical agentic software solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including ownership of complex technical work in an agile environment.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, or integrating AI-assisted and agentic software systems.
  • Experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar developer-assist platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Git-based version control, GitHub workflows, pull request practices, and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical plans, estimates, implementation approaches, and delivery risks.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards, ideally WCAG 2.2, is an asset.

AI Skills

  • Experience designing agentic workflows that plan, decompose tasks, call tools, validate outputs, and iterate when work fails.
  • Strong prompt engineering skills, including structured prompts, few-shot examples, schema enforcement, output constraints, and reusable prompt patterns.
  • Experience with RAG, function calling, tool calling, structured outputs, and deterministic routing around LLM-powered workflows.
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration approaches, such as multi-step tool chains, state-machine agents, LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, or custom frameworks.
  • Ability to design measurable LLM evaluation strategies using golden test sets, regression testing, human review workflows, and quantitative quality metrics.
  • Comfort balancing experimentation with production reliability, including guardrails, observability, structured logging, and graceful failure handling.

Nice to have

  • Experience defining and rolling out engineering standards at a team or organization level, such as coding conventions, PR workflows, testing practices, or API contracts.
  • Track record of driving AI tool adoption within an engineering team, including onboarding, guidance, enablement, and culture-building.
  • Experience with prompt caching, semantic routing, output memoization, or other strategies that improve performance, consistency, and scalability.
  • Ability to instrument LLM calls with structured traces, including inputs, outputs, latency, token count, tool calls, and task success rates using tools like LangSmith, OpenTelemetry, or custom logging.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and connecting front-end or agentic applications to back-end services.

Even if you don't meet all of the above requirements, we still encourage you to apply!
