Job Description:
As a Field Service Technician with Pitney Bowes, you will be a trusted technical expert and the face of our industry-leading SendTech solutions. Your work directly enhances the client experience, strengthens long-term relationships, and keeps essential mailing and shipping operations running smoothly across a diverse customer base.
This is a remote, field-based role with your primary service area located within 45 Minutes of Portland, Maine. Occasional travel outside this radius may be required. This is a field-based role requiring a central proximity of Portland Maine. No relocation assistance offered.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Employer will not sponsor position for employment visa status now or in the future (ex. H-1B).
You will enjoy a consistent Monday-Friday schedule aligned with traditional business hours, with overtime opportunities available.
We offer a competitive wage of $24.75 per hour. In addition, this role includes a 10% incentive on any service or parts sales you present to clients-giving you the opportunity to increase your earnings through your expertise and client rapport.
What You will Do
In this role, you will combine technical skills, customer service, and independent problem-solving to support our full suite of mailing and shipping technologies-from Inserters to Smart Lockers. You will:
  • Delivering exceptional customer service that drives client satisfaction, retention, and trust.
  • Diagnoses, repair, and troubleshoot both hardware and software issues to reduce downtime and callbacks.
  • Install, service, and upgrade Pitney Bowes Shipping & Mailing equipment, ensuring clients are fully trained and confident in their use.
  • Manage a multi-zip-code territory within 45 Minutes of Portland, Maine, with up to 80% driving time.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools to perform repairs, maintenance, and installations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment always.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and hands-on technical work while interacting directly with customers.
What You Bring - You will thrive in this role if you:
  • Enjoy working with and repairing mechanical or electrical components.
  • Are comfortable with significant driving time and working independently in the field.
  • Are motivated by the opportunity to earn additional income through service and parts sales.
  • Can lift 55+ lbs. and bend, squat, stoop, or stand for extended periods.
  • Have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Are familiar with Windows, PCs, and basic networking (preferred)
